To not believe this Amazon driver just left me high and dry like this?

I have covid, a moderate level so I am feeling rough and quite emotional. I also live alone and now have to isolate at home for 10 days.

I ordered a Morrison's delivery on Prime before I knew I had covid. I also added a note to the delivery today saying I am self isolating. I also added a large note to my front door.

When they came, I buzzed them in (I live in a flat). The guy came up, knocked twice, then left with all my stuff because I did not physically open the door to receive him. So I'm left high and dry without some essentials and food. AIBU to not believe they did this?

@RedCandyApple

Where I am amazon won’t deliveries outside unless there is a safe place like an enclosed porch or cupboard, they won’t just leave them on your door step where I am.
Where I am I had to complain as they always leave them outside the door and one was stolen once

Read the thread.

Or at least have the courtesy to read the OPs comments.

What have Amazon said?

burnthur5t · 26/02/2022 17:48

The driver was almost certainly following rules set out by the employer

The driver didn't see you, the driver also didn't speak to you

I am an ex Ocado and Sainsbury's driver and if we left a delivery on a door step in your circumstances we could have got a written warning

Imagine if the delivery was taken off your door step by somebody else. The driver would be asked, did you speak to the customer? No. Did you see the customer ? No

They were doing things by the book

I did leave a delivery once or twice when nobody was in, sometimes with permission, sometimes without but that was just me taking a risk. Some other would, some wouldn't

Yeah.. you really should have opened your door. You'll know for next time.
