Curling team jumping for joy photo

Magnificent performance from the women’s curling team but AIBU to have been irked by the photo of the team “jumping for joy” in the way we see (usually - or possibly only - girls) photographed fake celebrating their GCSE or A-level results? I found it patronising and was cross enough to email the BBC about it (& I’m not in the habit of doing that sort of thing) but I now see one of the team used the photo themselves on twitter. So WIBU?

DD2 and her best friends did one of those jumping for joy photos when they got their GCSE results. Nothing faux about it, whatsoever. Their grades were excellent and they were over the moon. Luckily their cervixes didn't hamper their jumping (or exam passing) abilities.

I thought it was a great picture of happy women who had spent hours over the winter games achieving their life's work of winning a gold medal.
They looked so elated and so they should !
They wouldn't have done it if they didn't want to.

OP what’s your opinion on the usual faux medal biting photos?

So glad they didn't do the biting the gold medal photo , hate those ones.
The men's curling team did well too , but not as well ., ! I am so pleased they won gold and I know nothing about curling.

I would jump for joy and I'm not sure if it's because I have a vagina. Maybe? Should I therefore not just do that I don't irritate someone else with a vagina?

Imagine belittling a woman who can handle a shotgun, is a brilliant golfer, bagpiper and can lamb a sheep with ease. Mind you if Eve doesn't get you, Rhona Martin will be on your tail.

I opened this thread expecting it to be about how they should have retaken the photo until all five of these fantastic gold-medal winners were caught mid-jump - it mildly bothered me that the woman on the right hadn’t really made it off the ground…

Honestly OP, a simple Google Image search shows lots of photos of boys jumping for joy after exam results.
