to be so sick to death of being embarrassed by Boris Johnson

Just watching him speak at the Munich conference now. Having spent the week following the Russia/Ukraine situation, and having heard numerous world leaders speak, including Joe Biden last night, I can't help but wince at the contrast. Johnson's speech is typical; peppered with clever-clever public schoolboy humour, facile metaphors and smirking, bombastic jingoistic rhetoric. He looks and sounds like an utter mess. This is who we are now, as far as the rest of the world is concerned. My toes are fucking curling Sad Angry

Yanbu
He's a thick, lazy scruff.

TerraNovaTwo · 19/02/2022 13:46

YANBU. What's even more embarrassing is the large proportion of the British electorate who voted for him and voted for Brexit.

I know. Biden is a very poor speaker I've no idea why they wheel him out. He looks like you could knock him down with a feather.

BJ in comparison looked like a strong leader. He's getting on with important stuff isn't he. At least the UK media have finally caught up.

Knittedfairies · 19/02/2022 13:56

Is that you Carrie?

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 19/02/2022 13:58

The people of England - we certainly didn’t want or vote for him here!

^^
Don’t invoke me in this!

SirChenjins · 19/02/2022 14:00

I’m holding you personally responsible @GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing Grin

TooBigForMyBoots · 19/02/2022 14:00

BJ in comparison looked like a strong leader.
🤣🤣🤣

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 19/02/2022 14:00

I’m hugely embarrassed by him also OP

Back on the “oh it was just England” - I didn’t vote for the Tories any more than an SNP voter did! Nor did my constituency or my city. Can I say “oh but not dunny on the wold” because we didn’t vote for him either?

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 19/02/2022 14:00

He's indicative of the utter rubbish that the British public school system vomits out year after year. They then crawl, blind drunk into Oxford, where they can pretend to receive a top class education then into a useless, daddy obtained job until somebody is stupid enough to allow them into politics.

Scum sucking bottom feeders the lot of them. Generation after generation after generation.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 19/02/2022 14:01

@SirChenjins Grin

Ex posted my subsequent rant Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 19/02/2022 14:01

@SnowD

Oh and 57% of us didn't vote for him. We just have a crap voting system. I support a party who would change it
Exactly this!
SirChenjins · 19/02/2022 14:03

‘In comparison to someone you could knock down with a feather, Boris looked like a strong leader’

Oh dear Grin Grin Yes, I suppose if you set the bar really really low then Head Clown might look strong in comparison.

Yes I agree!

We actually had a referendum on this not too long before the Brexit one - some time after 2010. That’s when people who wanted to change / mix it up a bit should have made their voices heard, not by voting to leave the EU!

LakieLady · 19/02/2022 14:08

@daimbarsatemydogsbone

He is a worthless cunt
Agreed!

I'm not embarrassed by him, because I didn't vote for the bloviating flobster and never would.

I'm embarrassed for those who did though. Wtf were thinking?

SirChenjins · 19/02/2022 14:10

Things that rational, decent, moral people don’t and which usually end in -ist

balalake · 19/02/2022 14:15

When I go abroad I hide the fact I come from these shores as much as I can. No clothing that could identify me as British, never speak English if at all possible (default to French), because I am so ashamed of what this country has become politically and am fed up of being asked about Brexit.

My opinion of him is that given his performance over Covid, a lifetime exile to St Helena (if it's still a UK colony) or South Georgia would be appropriate. That is only because of my lifelong opposition to the death penalty.

LakieLady · 19/02/2022 14:20

@Comedycook

I tell you something though, he makes all the previous prime ministers we've had look absolutely amazing doesn't he?! I long for the good old days of Brown, Cameron and May!
I think Cameron played a big part in Johnson becoming PM.

If Cameron hadn't called his fucking stupid referendum, Johnson wouldn't have hitched his ambition to the Brexit bandwagon. And then Cameron ran away, instead of staying on to clear up the massive pile of shit he'd just dumped on the nation.

May did her best to mitigate the disaster, but thanks to the headbanger wing of the Tory MPs, got nowhere, leaving the way clear for Johnson.

So, no referendum, no Brexit; qed no Johnson as PM.

Still trying to twist everything into how great Boris is I see?!

But let's face it. Boris will continue to be a terrible public speaker who looks like he's rolled out of bed to do it - however much you defend him!

Rathgar · 19/02/2022 14:23

all this talk of russia invading ukraine a load of nonsense,just giving more money to all those over paid jurnolists,and a nice distraction for boris and frends...

Can you give us something more concrete to go on, liker actual quotes? Its hard to know whether YABU without knowing what it was exactly that you considered to be 'clever-clever public schoolboy humour' for example.

LakieLady · 19/02/2022 14:28

At least they both look like they shower and groom themselves before representing us in a global forum.

I don't think Rees-Mogg does.

I think Nanny does it for him.

Eightiesfan · 19/02/2022 14:28

He’s a clueless, entitled knob who should have stuck with the odd hosting job on Have I got news for you!

On local tv he’s embarrassing as his answer to any question he does not want to answer is to repeatedly tell us what a great job he has done rolling out the vaccine 🙄. But put him on the world stage is just a downright embarrassment compared to the way other world leaders conduct themselves.

I wondered when you would pop up to defend the idiot. Nothing absolutely nothing you say can defend this buffoon but I know you will keep prattling on how wonderful he is. How sad your brain even thinks like this.
Rathgar · 19/02/2022 14:32
