I got poked fun at in the street and it's making me feel shit.

I don't know what it was meant to signify but it was obviously negative and I can't stop wondering what I look like to be brayed at.
A couple in their 20's walking towards me on the pavement. Residential area in town. Man looks at me making a donkey eeyore noise, laughed. The girl shushed him and said 'dont'

What does it mean?

It's nothing I know but just wondering?

It means he’s a cunt. It also means he’s probably doing the same stuff to the women in his life if he thinks he can get away with it.

Just some stupid joke they have between them. Maybe it's something like the 'bogies ' game. When someone says bogies as loud as they can to get a reaction or something.

Nothing you did or look like, can almost guarantee it.

Once DH and I were sat in the car watching something on the TV which is on the dash so not obvious to a passerby. We both burst out laughing at the precise moment a meek looking young woman walked past. She definitely thought we were laughing at her and we definitely weren’t.
My heart sank when I saw the look of embarrassment on her face & I still cringe when I think of it now but if I’d have got out & ran after her to explain I would have made it worse.
In short, it was nothing to do with her but it appeared that way. Slightly different to your experience I know but quite likely yours also wasn’t about you.

My quiet, young teenage son was once waiting on the pavement in town on his own for me to collect him after being to the cinema with friends.A young couple walking past and the woman just turned and thumped him in the face then walked on past. He was so upset, embarrassed by it that it took him till we got home to tell me by which time he had clear knuckle bruises on his face. He had no idea why.

It means he thinks it is ok to put women down for no other reason that he is a knob head and obviously does not like women very much. It could have been any other woman walking along and he would have done the same. Don't let it get to you as it happens to so many of us all the time.

That he's a cunt. That's what it means.

It may be nothing to do with you, it could be some stupid joke or dare between them, it could be him being juvenile and trying to impress her, or it could just be that he's a cunt.

This is so much easier said than done, but please try to put it from your mind. The opinion of some inadequate little dick who thinks it's OK to make someone feel uncomfortable like that isn't one you should give even a moment's thought to.

I’ve had similar in the past it used to upset me so much when I was younger. Now I just say hmm? Repeatedly and look confused to make them repeat themselves until they realise I’m winding them up and then they get very pissy at which point I laugh lots and walk away, that’s quite fun Grin

I have a brother who does this, makes stupid noises at people, winds strangers up and generally acts like a twat, it’s all to do with him being a twat and nothing at all about the unfortunate people who may come into contact with him.

But please don't feel bad. It could easily have been a silly in joke. For example "I bet you wouldn't make an animal sound at the next person we see" type dare and she didn't think he would.

Or perhaps he's trying to embarrass her 'for fun'.

Either way, it's likely nothing to do with you

Even if it was directed at you because he was showing off to his g/f, the only possible insult ‘donkey’ brings to mind is that someone is stupid. It would be just like some kid shouting “Oi! Stupid” at a complete stranger in front of their mates to get a reaction.

Nothing to do with how you look, or you at all, but says everything about the sort of moronic behaviour that people like him demonstrate because they think it’s hilarious. Don’t give it or him another thought, op.

I’m sure you would have mentioned it but you weren’t carrying something big or heavy or a load of bags were you? Some people make donkey noises in that situation because you are loaded down like a pack animal.

When i was heavily pregnant and sometimes having pelvic girdle & left pain and stiffness , I was walking- slowly and awkwardly home from the train station after work ... a guy came out of a local bar restaurant with his partner, and (presumably not having seen my front to see I was pregnant) decided to entertain his acquaintances on the outside terrace but mocking my gait, following me closely for several steps while doing so. He then nipped off laughing (and his partner appeared amused too) to his car/jeep nearby.

I saw one guy on the terrace clock i was pregnant and look disturbed/uncomfortable. The others were all larking around an bantering.

He eas very pleased & impressed with himself indeed. And his partner seemed happy too.

What struck me was that he presumably didn't know I was pregnant, so he did that to someone else he thought had walking difficulties/an illness causing them etc.

Cunts gonna be cunts.

And I feel wrong using a female body part, a cool one at that, for a creature like that.
