How many takeaways?!

I'm wondering if my husband and I are over indulging and it would be good to know if we are normal or not Grin

How many takeaways do you and your DP (not DC) have per week / month? 🤫

@VeryLongBeeeeep

A Dominos every couple of months or so, and don't come at me with your "I can cook better myself" shit because Dominos is the King of Pizzas, it's the only thing that can really hit the pizza spot, and I will brook no dissent on this.

I'd happily have the odd Chinese or Indian takeaway now and then, but we're in a bit of a takeaway black hole so the closest I get is those Sainsburys "Indian meal for two" things once in a blue moon.

Have you tried Crosta & Mollica pizza bases? I get them from Sainsburys and add my own toppings, it is way nicer than Domino’s but it’s Italian style pizza rather than American style.

@EmbarrassingHadrosaurus

The Pakistani restaurant is East London is Needoo or alternatively Tayyabs.

Leftbutcameback · 11/02/2022 13:31

Once a month on average, maybe twice if it's a special occasion (or lockdown!)

Singinghollybob · 11/02/2022 13:31

Every few months

MrsBerthaRochester · 11/02/2022 13:33

For myself one night a week, for the dcs one to two. Dd would live on takeaway burgers/pizza and asks exdh for the cash to get them. Need to cut down as put on lots of weight and also cant afford it!

ButteryNuts · 11/02/2022 13:36

Not often - Just checked my app and Ive ordered 3 since October

guiltynetter · 11/02/2022 13:41

Once a month.

moocow123456 · 11/02/2022 13:42

Once a week!

sausageandchamp · 11/02/2022 13:50

Once every two months.

larkstar · 11/02/2022 13:52

I've ordered in "one" - when we moved in to the house we live in now - that was Sept 2001 - we didn't have enough in the house food wise and were knackered from shifting boxes all day. I cook all my own food - it's not hard or time consuming to make a curry or a pizza from scratch including making the dough for the base.

aintnospringchicken · 11/02/2022 13:54

Less than once a month.

Maneandfeathers · 11/02/2022 13:56

At one point we were getting 3 per week Blush

Limiting ourselves to one a week now due to rising living costs but I am so lazy I have to be reminded multiple times!

JustJam4Tea · 11/02/2022 13:59

Ones near us just aren't great. Eating out near us isn't brilliant either. But sometimes you just want a night off, not to have to eat the same meal as everyone else and no washing up. But we'd go out for a pub meal then.

toconclude · 11/02/2022 13:59

Approximately once in six weeks?

GettingStuffed · 11/02/2022 14:01

We rarely have one, The last one we had was November.

hangrylady · 11/02/2022 14:13

Once a fortnight usually

CheltenhamLady · 11/02/2022 14:22

Take away, once a week usually. Always Indian food.

We eat out at least once a week too.

Quamora · 11/02/2022 14:26

It varies as we can go months and months without one and then have three in a month but I would say on average a proper takeaway once or twice a month and a McDonald’s on the way back from somewhere twice a month. We rarely eat out normally but have actually managed one meal out in each of December, January and February which feels very decadent Grin

ladygindiva · 11/02/2022 14:26

one a week at the moment; a Friday treat. Dp has had a salary increase this year so this is a new development. If I feel a bit extravagant/lazy I tell myself we are helping the local chinese/indian/whatever as Covid must have damaged their business and then feel less guilty

Mama1980 · 11/02/2022 14:43

About once a month

AmberGer · 11/02/2022 14:44

Not very often. A few times a year. Used to be more but our income is much less now and we have to really watch the pennies. I can't justify £30-40 on a takeaway when that could buy a great deal of shopping from aldi.

DuesToTheDirt · 11/02/2022 14:46

About once every 2-3 months, nearly always suggested by me as I'm the chief cook and get fed up of it.

5keletor · 11/02/2022 14:48

2-3 times a week, but it's not all unhealthy. We have a nice restaurant nearby that will cook fresh food to be picked up or delivered, exact same as you would get if ordering at a table. Makes it easier now we have kids.

OohRahhMaki · 11/02/2022 14:49

Oh god, confession time - maybe 7 a week. Usually one of either breakfast, lunch or dinner Blush

allfurcoatnoknickers · 11/02/2022 14:52

2-3 times a week. More if you count getting a coffee and a bagel to take the the office in the mornings.

I live in NYC though where eating out is often cheaper and always easier than cooking in a teeny tiny kitchen. You can also get anything delivered, so it's very rare I have an unhealthy take away. We eat a lot of Pho, baja Mexican, sushi and Szechuan Chinese.

If my only options were deep fried or greasy the answer would be basically never.
