How many takeaways?!

I'm wondering if my husband and I are over indulging and it would be good to know if we are normal or not Grin

How many takeaways do you and your DP (not DC) have per week / month? 🤫

OP posts:
Lubeyboobyalt · 11/02/2022 11:40

none, too rural for delivery

probably would be one or two a month otherwise (thats what we did before we moved)

Spongecakeandcoffee · 11/02/2022 11:40

Once a month or on birthdays.

We used to have a lot more, sometimes 1-2 a week, but we both ended up putting on weight. I also prefer home cooking these days and find takeaway expensive compared to home made.

LovelaceBiggWither · 11/02/2022 11:41

We have amazing takeaways around here. Japanese, Afghani, Lebanese, Polynesian, Maori, fish and chips, pizza and more. A fantastic cafe that delivers coffee by drone.

About once a week unless life is fraught and then it can be more times.

MandyCarter · 11/02/2022 11:42

Maybe 2 or three times a months, it's such a luxury though

Envious but also relieved I don’t live around so many options!
Furries · 11/02/2022 11:44

Once a month with a friend - always at my place (she comes for the child-free peace!)

And around 4 times a year I pick up a pub roast to take to my mum’s house.

airbalonz · 11/02/2022 11:44

We seem to go through phases where we won’t have a single takeaway for a few months then randomly have 2 or 3 in one week.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 11/02/2022 11:45

Probably 4 or 5 a year

wheretogofromhere12 · 11/02/2022 11:46

1 per week usually. And we go out for tea or breakfast once or twice per week.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 11/02/2022 11:46

About once a month.

Cherryberrypies · 11/02/2022 11:46

My neighbours eat takeaway every weeknight. I don’t mean to watch them but I am usually in the kitchen cooking and see him carrying the boxes/bags in. Always branded bags so clear where they are from, they eat an awful lot of kfc.

Not sure on weekends as we usually eat later so not there been nosey but not sure why they would change the habit

In comparison we have 1 a month usually more if we visit the in-laws.

It’s an effort to get takeaway round here no one delivers really so I am impressed with my neighbours dedication.

itwasntaparty · 11/02/2022 11:48

Takeaways maybe once every two weeks, sometimes more but we usually thane lunch or a meal out at least once a week as well, and then sandwich shop lunches too. I am way over cooking since lockdown and haven't got the Kobe back for it.

incognitoforthisone · 11/02/2022 11:48

Maybe once or twice a month? Usually it would be fish and chips, pizza, Turkish or posh burgers from a couple of local restaurants that deliver. But we also go out to eat fairly often as we live in easy walking distance of quite a lot of places.

I definitely don't think we'd do this if we had kids; it would bankrupt us!

Mellowyellow222 · 11/02/2022 11:48

Used to be once a week. Now once a month after horror at resulting weight gain.

Well I haven't got the Kobe either but I meant love!
Hellolittlestar · 11/02/2022 11:49

Twice a week

Alwayscheerful · 11/02/2022 11:50

Once a year or less.

Inspectorslack · 11/02/2022 11:51

Once in a blue moon. Maybe twice or three times a year.

IncompleteSenten · 11/02/2022 11:51

Once every few months.

I don't like spending money

FastFood · 11/02/2022 11:51

A few times a year.
There's this amazing pakistani restaurant in east london, its delicious but your clothes stink after eating there so its always delivery or take away.
Otherwise, I always have easy stuff to cook in the flat if I'm feeling lazy, or I just go to Coop and buy a pizza to put in the oven.
Really don't get the appeal of paying £15-20 for greasy tasteless food.

FelicityFlops · 11/02/2022 11:52

Live rurally where options are extremely limited and not tasty at all.
Also not very economical to get takeaways for just 1 person as there is generally a minimum spend.

gogohm · 11/02/2022 11:52

Now with dp, maybe once a month we prefer to eat out, at least once per week, it's only because we don't want to go out that we order a take away.

With exh we were eating out/ takeaways up to 4 times a week, very bad

Me none, my son gets something in mcdonalds every friday like a medium fries or mcflurry on the way home.
Coasterfan · 11/02/2022 11:53

We are terrible, we have maccies every Tuesday as DS has football straight after school and we don’t get home til after 8, then we have a papa johns on a Friday or go to the pub, something else on a Saturday (Chinese, Nando’s etc) or eat out and in theme park season we ll have a theme park tea on a Sunday as well!

Limita · 11/02/2022 11:54

A couple of times a year maybe. Although I do treat myself to a McDonald's if I walk past one or I'm hungover more frequently than that.

I do live alone though so I think it always seems a bit of a waste to get a takeaway for one person, because most of it always ends up being thrown out.
