Shock Angry[ I'd like to think this dress code isn't real, but it is totally real and I think is just appalling. AIBU to think this is completely awful and out of date (and also where am I going to find black strappy shoes in a hurry?!). It's our new local opening in Leatherhead, Surrey. Unbelievable.

@KeepingAnOpenMind

The local Age Concern shop has a sign in the window ‘Get your Beluga outfit here’ next to a pair of tatty high heels 🤣
🤣🤣🤣

It’s in Leatherhead. If it lasts more than five minutes, I’ll be amazed.

Tbf it is for Leatherhead.

Grin

Ok fair enough!

@WomanStanleyWoman
You mean people complaining they cannot get in, they don't meet the criteria for entry.
It might sound unfair but it's a great way to generate mystery, it's a bit like the secret walled garden, everyone will want to have a look.

In answer to your question, one of our ideas began in a basement, quite a large one, which held 150 people. The place was run by a Polish chap, the clientele was mainly baltic-eastern European. Eventually we out grew the venue and moved on to another one 3 times the size, which happened to be a mixed venue, so we controlled the entry so as keep the family the same or similar. Then from there, we were invited to guest at other similar and larger venues.

I'm not a big fan of glitz, but it has a market and in general, it's better than a free-for-all venue playing pop music.

Well given that race is mentioned as a factor in the majority of the reviews, I think it’s pretty trashy to be talking about ‘criteria’.

It sounds to me like it was written by a slavering, fantasising Richard Richard (just before he whacked Eddie with a frying pan and accidentally got his testicles crushed in the slammed fridge door):

"Look.... we blokes will sit over here in this dark corner with a great view and you birds can all turn up wearing just your pants and strut your stuff in front of the bar!"
