I can't think of anything frozen fruit or veg that's really good to have in the freezer. Trying to save money and less waste. What is your ultimate frozen food for cooking. I'm not a brand snob so happy to try out cheaper if it's worth it! Not ready meals though 😃

@ThinWomansBrain

If I make braised red cabbage, I always end up with loads (not sure what I'd do with the rest of the cabbage if I only cooked part) so that gets frozen.
Save a bit for a red cabbage coleslaw. I often do this with red or white cabbage. I like a cruchy coleslaw that's only lightly coated in mayo, rather than the wet stuff that's pre-made.

I can do chips, gratin, rosti. But my wedges never seem to pass muster. And the kids don't eat them 🤣. But I know they have them at school so it must just be my cooking!

Don't you love it when mass catered school dinners are deemed superior to our cooking at home...!

At DS1s 5th birthday, I made fish fingers, chips and beans for all the kids (several were Halal only). One of the kids said half way through, with a huge beam of happiness. This is JUST like school dinners. I took it as a big compliment. Grin

Frozen parathas and samosas, various dumplings. It's really worth checking out Indian/East Asian/World Food stores freezer sections as there's some really great stuff and usually better than e.g. getting the Itsu dumplings or supermarket samosas

I always have some frozen breaded chicken in the freezer as an emergency dinner. We normally have it sliced up with pasta and sauce and frozen peas if we need a quick dinner at short notice
