Hi all, I got my Covid Vaccine today and rang my husband on the way home to tell him how it went. When on the phone he made a joke about how he had been crying as now we wouldn’t be able to have children. I then told him that it wasn’t a funny joke and that he had hurt my feelings. Needless to say he didn’t take it well and said he was only making a joke , it’s not his fault that I don’t have a sense of humour [hmm]. So who is being unreasonable ?

WHY would you even consider having children with someone who is ant-vaxx?

If he really believes this, why are you taking his remark as a joke. It wasn't a joke if he really believes you will now be infertile. You should be asking different questions.

Yeah same. Not exactly peak comedy, but I think I made a similar joke to DH when I got my booster, like "topped up my 5G now!" or something.

My opinion...peoples words say everything about them not the person they say it to. That said, when I am in this situation, I will request that they dont say (whatever it is they said that I didn't like) it again. It goes something like...'With all due respect, I feel upset when you say dot dot dot, please can you not say that again.' This goes down very well and I feel empowered for taking full responsibility and it is often met with an apology too.

You’re dating an imbecile but surely you knew that already if you had to get vaccinated without his permission/ knowledge. Him thinking you’re infertile must have been something he’s already mentioned to you when he was saying why he was anti vaccination.
