David Beckham reveals wife Victoria has eaten the same meal every day for 25 years

Apparently Victoria Beckham will only ever eat grilled fish and steamed veg. Every day for 25 years. She says she won’t eat food cooked in oil, butter or sauces, red meat, or dairy.

AIBU to think life is too short to live without butter!

@Quincythequince

I would bet money that those people criticising her, have a weight problem!

I could be wrong of course but I bet I’m not!

Many people stay Slim people because they don’t eat everything all the time.

It doesn’t mean they don’t eat anything, ever, nor does it mean they have disordered eating!

Do you think I am criticising her?

Do you think I have a weight problem?

Do you think I eat everything all the time? Grin

I was surprised he thought it was ok to reveal that.

He presumably likes living with someone who’s been so very very slim for so many years. This is what it takes.

LeQuern · 01/02/2022 21:02

I don’t like cake!

But I bloody love wearing a size 10 at 5’8. Love it. Love being able to walk in to any shop and wear what I want. I am disciplined in my diet to achieve this. Give zero fucks what others think. Doesn’t mean I don’t break once a month or so but I earn that break to eat what I want. I also work out every day.

I prefer to be be slim than not. As said before, doesn’t make me any better or worse that anyone (and I think VB looks better now than she did in the whiten swimsuit photo poster earlier).

GingerScallop · 01/02/2022 21:02

may be. Or may be it's a testament of how the judging and commercialisation of the female body affects some women

size 12-14

Size 12 - 14 would have been a 14 - 16 thirty years ago.

People used to be mostly slim.
Being ow is far more normalised now than being thin imo.

BINGO

Not really clever though because you’ve ignored my other earlier comment but enjoy your childish game.

Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 21:03

You are clearly criticising her!

Your own detail of your diet answers your own question.

Size 14 isn’t that small, and a BMI of 23 at size 14 seems a bit unusual!

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 01/02/2022 21:04

She's said it herself before. He's not revealed anything new about her

VladmirsPoutine · 01/02/2022 21:05

I find it remarkable how these women manage. Even Kate of William and Kate is excruciatingly thin!

Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 21:06

Thing is, this statement is totally taken out of context as a PP has said!

But the fact that so many are saying all these things about her is terrible! It’s nobody’s business and she doesn’t have to look a certain way, or eat a certain way to appease other people!

Women are so vicious to other women sometimes!

Pallisers · 01/02/2022 21:06

My dad would have happily had grilled fish and veg every day for dinner (and what he did eat when not having fish was things like grilled chops or roast chicken, boiled potatoes, steamed veg - maybe a bit of gravy - it is how we ate). He liked food but that was his favourite. When mum made fish and chips on Fridays she put on a few boiled potatoes for him - he preferred them. He always ordered grilled fish when at a restaurant. He didn't gain or lose a pound once he reached his adult weight (slim and fit) and when he saw a dietician as part of a geriatric work up in his 80s, she told him not to change a thing.

Not surprising though that women in the public/tabloid eye would have some disordered eating/body image issues - the entire tabloid industry is trying to induce it in them.

Cherrybomb197 · 01/02/2022 21:06

Really??!! Who ducking cares what the lassie has to eat. It seems healthy enough. Not what I’d want to eat every night!

Mollymoostoo · 01/02/2022 21:07

That's why she looks like a baked bean on a tooth pick.

Absolutely this.

If she's 7.5st then she's a normal weight for her height (5'4"?)

It's as if some MNers just can't bear to see slim women so want to pick fault with the way they look or behave to male themselves feel better.

And as someone else pointed out, eating a restricted diet is not a disorder.

But - again, as already said above - many people with eating disorders end up that way due to bullying and yet here we are with a significant number of posters enjoying attacking VB for her weight, looks and behaviour.

Not nice.

gogohm · 01/02/2022 21:10

Dd eats the same meal most nights if alone, rice and daal. On bad nights she just eats toast. She will eat things for me, this took years though. Asd

AmberLynn1536 · 01/02/2022 21:10

@RonCarlos

I thought it was well known that this was her diet. I expect this was affectionate teasing and that she wouldn't mind him saying it. They seem pretty happy as a couple and being in control of what you eat is key to managing an eating disorder, I thought? I can't see the problem. The DM have said he moaned, which I highly doubt. It's clickbait.
I disagree I thought he came across as a bit of a dig at her, I think he has form for passive aggressive comments about his wife, I don’t think he likes her very much, that being said I can understand his frustration, this comment from the article was quite telling:

The only time she's probably ever shared something that's been on my plate was actually when she was pregnant with Harper and it was the most amazing thing. It was one of my favourite evenings. I can't remember what it was but I know she's not eaten it since.

shinynewapple22 · 01/02/2022 21:11

I eat fish and veg most days too.

Plus a mound of mashed potato and some kind of sauce. And a desert .

I don't look like Victoria Beckham!

jytdtysrht · 01/02/2022 21:11

Well I am in awe of her self control.

I bloody love butter, meat and the rest of it. I am a similar age to her. She looks a lot better than me and I bet she's loads healthier.

FlexibleWorkingDenied · 01/02/2022 21:13

Sorry I don’t know what to tell you 🤷‍♀️ I’m 5’ 5” and I weigh 10st 4lbs. I wear a 12-14, probably more comfortable in a 14 on the bottom. I could probably lose half a stone, but not too bothered. I’ve been pretty open. I don’t know whether size 14 and BMI is unusual, are there any correlation tables etc that show what the usual clothes sizes at each BMI are?

As I’ve said, her diet is an interesting discussion due to how unusual and restricted it is, and the longevity with which she’s kept it up. And the reasons behind why she would do this- imo reflecting an unhealthy part of our society. I don’t think I’ve said anything to criticise her. I have implied I wouldn’t want her diet- this is because a variety of food is pleasurable, sociable, part of family, culture and tradition.

SafeMove · 01/02/2022 21:14

As someone who has had an ED and was under 6 stone, and then someone who had a chrtonic illness that took me up to 11 stone: I don't really care about how the outside looks anymore. I am more bothered that my heart and liver are okay (they aren't) and that I am well (I am not). As long as her organs are healthy it's not really anyone else's business what she eats. Not sure why her husband put it out there but maybe it isn't a big deal because they know her baseline health is fine? They can afford to know that!

HangoverSquare · 01/02/2022 21:14

@Quincythequince

And to be clear Flex, I don’t give a crap what size you are or what you eat!

You should try it sometime.

And I made it clear that It was pointedly asked on here because you feel it’s ok to do this, so let’s see how you like it.

It’s notes that you’ve failed to answer the 12-14 vs 14-16 comment too!

But never mind eh! It’s really none of our business!

You're not covering yourself in glory by hectoring someone over their size because you're annoyed she's discussing VB's size.
shinynewapple22 · 01/02/2022 21:14

@SofiaSoFar 7 1/2 stone is underweight for someone of 5'4"

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 01/02/2022 21:15

I was a size 12 with a bmi of 23, what's so unusual about that .

I don't actually give a shit if back in the day a size 12 was more like a 14 or a 16 either . It's within healthy range and I looked good in my clothes Grin

I have no idea if she has an eating disorder or if she just has little interest in food . I'm sure she must eat other things during the day. I can live for months on chicken and veg. I'm not eating it 3 times a day though and I'm sure she isn't either

AlexissFreeenncch · 01/02/2022 21:15

I think with a chef it’s not bad. Think of the variety of fish she could have and veg, lovely salads, lovely herby sauces etc. not the same as having the same piece of cod from Tesco and some carrots everyday.

You don’t give a crap what size I am or what I eat? Then why did you post this in your previous post:

What’s your weight and diet like flexible? Do tell!

You specifically asked me my weight and diet and I answered you. I haven’t asked you anything personal.
