So normally I’m a bit heartless and not one to cry at programmes at all, but I was flicking through Disney+ today and ended up watching The Rescue. Amazing programme and of course here I am bloody bawling about it at the end.

What did you last watch that made you cry?

The Father, it's free on Amazon Prime at the moment. Olivia Colman and Anthony Hopkins and everyone else are amazing. It's told from the perspective of the the father with dementia so it's not chronological and it was really good. It's really effective at getting across the confusion people in that position must feel as well as the terrible strain on their caregivers.

This YouTube clip of a cat listening to its dead owner's voice. I properly bawled 😭 Sad

Watch till the end. Really shreds you especially if you have cats

Trying2310 · 30/01/2022 21:05

When I watched Belfast this weekend. So many poignant memories of my childhood and the struggles we faced as young children and then as one half of a 'mixed marriage'.

3Sheetstothewind · 30/01/2022 21:12

Moana! 😜

MuseumOfIdiots · 30/01/2022 21:13

Upright. It stars Tim Minchin and Milly Alcock and is currently on Amazon Prime Video, but you have to buy it. It's superbly written, beautifully shot, and the acting is amazing, particularly Milly Alcock. It's heart-achingly beautiful and wrenching. I blub just thinking about it. It's easily the best television series in decades.

I don't really cry at tv/films but definitely cry at books.
Im a bit of a mythology nerd and síl bought me the song of achilles for Christmas (about achilles and patroclus). I ugly cried near the end of that.

ApricotArcade · 30/01/2022 21:15

The baby teddie episode of 24 hours in police custody.

Harrowing

elbo7 · 30/01/2022 21:29

Encanto. I've seen it several times now and I weep at the emotional bits every time. It's getting worse as I know they're coming!

chorusline79 · 30/01/2022 21:37

This is us last episode. Often gets me!

Snowisfalling33 · 30/01/2022 21:45

The end of "Prom" the musical, when her mum turns up in a rainbow suit.
I've sobbed at it both times I've watched it.

This series really is an absolute cracker. Both funny and heartbreakingly sad all the way through
Owlink · 30/01/2022 21:47

@DoubleHelix79

The Futurama episode with Fry's fossilised dog
Can't watch that episode any more 😢
pollygartertidywife · 30/01/2022 21:48

Afterlife series 1,2 and 3

Funny funny,funny and absolutely heartbreaking...

Whatafustercluck · 30/01/2022 21:55

Anne. Watched it with my ds. Still can't get my head around almost 100 people dying at a football match. Utterly heartbreaking.

RMS0209 · 30/01/2022 22:03

After life, but I did enjoy it.

baroqueandblue · 30/01/2022 22:13

Another for the Windermere Children here, saw it when it was on a few weeks ago. Also teared up when Meg got her results in Motherland, which I only saw very recently coz only got into the show at the end of last year. Thought it was done very poignantly. Love Meg, she's real.

Episodes of Dopesick and In Treatment (season 4) really moved me in the last couple of weeks.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 30/01/2022 22:22

@PamelaDoov

If you really want your heart broken, watch A Monster Calls.
Saw that in the cinema when it came out. You just looked down the rows and saw people wiping tears! I was a wreck.

Encanto. Quite a few moments but the two oruguitas song..didnt see that coming!

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 30/01/2022 22:25

@PAFMO

A very brief YouTube clip this morning that my students will be looking at this week as part of a wider project. Nicholas Winston on That's Life. I've seen the clip hundreds of times and cry like a baby each time. Humans can sometimes be pretty amazing.
Me too! I saw it yesterday and blubbed again.
parched · 30/01/2022 22:26

Rose and Gio's silent moment in their couple's choice dance.

PermanentTemporary · 30/01/2022 22:32

@PAFMO that clip always makes me cry too. There's something about the very restrained but very intense emotion on every face that will always stay with me.

Nichola2310 · 30/01/2022 22:36

24 hours in A & E, I rarely get through an episode without tears

frenchfancy81 · 30/01/2022 22:50

It's a sin
