How annoying is peppa pig?

My 5yo dd still watches this shite and I can't believe how bad/annoying it is.

All the male characters are beyond useless so it's always "mummies to the rescue" the one she's just watched has the men setting fire to a bbq and the women coming to fix it.

They fat shame daddy pig and peppa is a cheeky little shit.

And where is daddy pigs parents or is this a hush hush thing that granpa and granny pig are his parents as well?

There is so much shit kids TV it's unreal.

Paw Patrol, fucking Blippi, Dora the Explorer.

Peppa is absolute genius in comparison and is often just plain genius, like the episode set in soft play where they all get stuck or the episode where they get glitter out and gradually everything gets covered in glitter.

Or the bit where it's revealed that madame gazelle is a vampire.

Awful in so many ways. Sexist re men, jokes about being fat, the single woman works crazy hard but for me the worst was how they all mock Pedro. Plus DD started copying Baby George’s wail whenever she didn’t get her way 🙉

Introduce other stuff like Paw Patrol, Thomas the tank engine etc

@lovesT haha it’s not just us then.
Grin

I also love Grampy Rabbit “ FOOOOG!” When he starts singing his song and the the grown up go “no thank you!”
Grandad Dog and granpa pigs friendship/rivalry
I about DIED laughing at the episode when the kids were begging madam gazelle for glitter, and she finally agreed and goes and gets it from a locked vault - and then it cuts it to home time, and they’re all covered in it. Grin

I’m not a fan either, never have been. I remember going to a toddler group a couple of years ago where the subject of Peppa came up and everyone was saying how much they loved it. I was the only one who dared to say I couldn’t stand it and everyone looked at me like I had two heads. It just irritates the fuck out of me Grin. It’s the whiny voice I think and they’re always so mean to poor Daddy pig, he’s abused by them all including his IL’s.

Ben and Holly is funny. The fact the mayor is Boris Johnson, the ladybirds called amber, emerald and Keith ect.

Bing is very whine-y. A couple of the few episodes I’ve seen involve him crushing a butterfly and shoplifting.

@avamiah

My daughter is 12 now and she never liked Peppa Pig to be honest and preferred Mr Bean cartoons and Horrid Henry, then she moved onto Scooby Do.lol

Mr Bean is sometimes on over the weekend and she will watch the odd episode and I have to say I like it as well haha

Had to ban Horrid Henry in our house when my eldest DD started copying him. It drove me mad. I didn't actually mind the show but wasn't going to have my kids acting like that.

DS is older now so doesn't watch it any more but I didn't mind Peppa pig to be honest. I find the YouTubers he watches now far more irritating!
