How annoying is peppa pig?

My 5yo dd still watches this shite and I can't believe how bad/annoying it is.

All the male characters are beyond useless so it's always "mummies to the rescue" the one she's just watched has the men setting fire to a bbq and the women coming to fix it.

They fat shame daddy pig and peppa is a cheeky little shit.

And where is daddy pigs parents or is this a hush hush thing that granpa and granny pig are his parents as well?

@Piglet89

Paw Patrol is absolute crap. I won’t allow my son to watch that shite.

Paw patrol is just noise. Banned over here too, it's unbearable to listen to. The best kids shows are the ones adults can tolerate and even enjoy, like peppa

@TheRemotePart my husband and I talk about things that happened in Peppa Pig too 😄 we quite enjoy the comments from the characters

namechangetheworld · 30/01/2022 22:23

I love Peppa Pig, some parts are absolute comedy gold. Grampy Rabbit infiltrating the sailing club in his hovercraft, Peppa hanging up on Suzy Sheep mid conversation when she realises she can whistle, literally everything about Mr Bull. I like the fact it doesn't take itself too seriously.

GrandTheftWalrus · 30/01/2022 22:27

Yeah the supporting characters do come out with some crackers. But the peppa one is annoying.

I remember seeing in the paper someone about peppa voice actor looks unrecognisable at 18. Well obviously since she isn't actually a pig!

I will take Peppa, Bing etc etc over Little Baby Bum EVERY time AngryAngry my DD is 2.5 and is the only thing she will watch, she is absolutely obsessed. I try putting on something else and all she wants is LBB. Its actually sending me loopy!

I did manage to get Peppa on for a whole 2 minutes this morning before the requests for LBB started Angry

GrandTheftWalrus · 30/01/2022 22:30

Oh god LBB is horrific. Who calls it that for a start?

Nomicron · 30/01/2022 22:34

I find it pretty funny and still quote it several times a week at least even though my kids are teens Grin
I quite like Ben and Hollie too

GrandTheftWalrus · 30/01/2022 22:35

Yeah we do the "can you whistle?" Etc quite a lot lol.

@GrandTheftWalrus ha i did actually google this because i thought the same, i think the creator called his baby daughter that as a nickname or something!

I actually hate it, i am bloody desperate for her to watch something else Grin although she will accept mickey mouse clubhouse on occasion! I just want to put on toy story or some other disney film without her protesting Grin

DaddypigLTB · 30/01/2022 22:38

Daddy pig should really LTB.

I'd love her to sit and watch films but she just can't. She doesn't even sit at school to the point they've actually asked us if we are going to the doctors about her etc.

Ahhh that makes sense. I will be honest, little bit apprehensive about Google little baby bum 😂

*googling. This phone has a mind of its own.

@GrandTheftWalrus

It was more the men all panicking and then "mummies to the rescue"

I'd love her to watch encanto (I'm dying to watch it) but she won't sit and watch a film so a few eps of peppa is about her limit. Although I may try as she did sit and watch frozen.

I also tried to get her into the Disney classics but again no interest, little git!

I recommend getting the Julia Donaldson books zog, zog and the flying doctors, snail and the whale, Gruffalo, gruffalo's child, stick man, room on the broom, highway rat and super worm as Sky has film adaptations of 25-30 mins each on all these books. It's absolutely magical reading the books and having them come to life like that. DD (3) will happily watch 2 in a row.
itsacovidxmasone · 30/01/2022 22:47

@GrandTheftWalrus

Wonder what I'm thinking of, unless I have the narrator wrong, they get badges?
How can you not enjoy Duggee Grin
itsacovidxmasone · 30/01/2022 22:48

@Bunnycat101

My first didn’t really watch peppa- she was obsessed with Bing. Like a few other posters I love Peppa in comparison to Bing. Some of the episodes are quite amusing. I also really like Ben and Holly.
Cannot stand bing. Ben and Holly is difficult to watch too as the voice of Miss Rabbit is in there and I find that voice so annoying!
Minniem2020 · 30/01/2022 22:52

I second the recommendation from a pp re the Julia Donaldson stories. DS has always enjoyed watching these, especially stick man.
And yes Peppa is a cheeky little shit and Bing is just a whinge. I do like Ben and Holly though.

TildaRae · 30/01/2022 22:54

Stephen Fry narrated Pocoyo.

I like Peppa, and the little jokes! When mr fox is creeping round the hen house late at night and grandpa pig catches him…

avamiah · 30/01/2022 22:58

My daughter is 12 now and she never liked Peppa Pig to be honest and preferred Mr Bean cartoons and Horrid Henry, then she moved onto Scooby Do.lol

Mr Bean is sometimes on over the weekend and she will watch the odd episode and I have to say I like it as well haha

oncemoreunto · 30/01/2022 23:02

I love Peppa Pig, still think fondly of it a decade after my dc stopped watching it.

OneTC · 30/01/2022 23:03

Weird little cock headed creatures. No

Hellolittlestar · 30/01/2022 23:09

I like it, they speak nicely and it’s funny.

GrandTheftWalrus · 30/01/2022 23:10

@itsacovidxmasone she loves the gruffalo and gruffalos child. She has them on dvd and will happily sit and watch them. But our dvd player is the ps4 and the chances of the controllers being charged so she can watch is slim to none half the time so she watches netflix.

Don't understand how Peppa is so much more popular than Ben and Holly, its far superior. Love Nanny Plum and the gnome.

avamiah · 30/01/2022 23:16

My daughter used to love the Mr Men and little misses series when she was a toddler but I don’t think it’s on anymore.
