Naked man in car park/view point

Local viewpoint has a natural outdoor pond which people do outdoor swimming, maybe a car park for 40 cars. Sat in the car today putting on hat etc waiting to go out, a fully completely (not even shoes) man walks in front of the car to the pool. Oh sorry he has a hat on. I got a full frontal swinging view for quite a while. We sat there initially for a few seconds in a “did I just fucking see that?”. He was with 2 women who were wearing swimming costumes. He wasn’t even carrying a towel like they were. He walked about 200m.

We were just wondering whether this was a police matter, when we noticed there was a park warden in the car park and we’re going to talk to him, but it seemed a few people had beaten us to it. Warden went and talked to the 2 women who had got out at this point and they went and got another towel for naked man, who stayed in for another 5 mins I guess hoping to avoid warden, who then talked to him in front of our car. Naked man said something like it was a shame people were offended in this day and age.

Once he was gone, suddenly everyone got out their cars, like they were waiting for it to finish. There were kids walking with families (it is the start of a scenic walk).

If he really wanted to go for a naked swim, then walk to the pond with a towel and put it down before you go in surely? Although DH said even that is flashing too much.

So, if the warden wasn’t there, would you have thought it was a police matter? Is this not ok? They might not have been there in time. I think the warden dealt with it appropriately.

YANBU - no it’s not okay to walk 200m naked with families around
YABU - of course it’s ok to see a mans genitals when you’re not expecting them

@Emanchego

The creepiness is tiring isn't it. Legit we need to bring back kink shaming.
Definitely! Did you know Kinsey, the beloved grandfather of sexual revolution who decreed what was normal sexual behaviour was a sadomasochistic porn addicted satanist? Not even joking about the last bit. He died from the physical trauma he inflicted on his own testicles, ffs. And he openly said sexual contact with adults doesn’t harm children but it’s society’s stigma that does... and he lied and published actual documented sexual abuse of children as ‘research’. Incidentally, his boyfriend (Kenneth Anger) is still alive and has a huge tattoo saying LUCIFER his chest Hmm

The problem there is that you view nakedness as sexual.

Ibrokemydietlastnight · 29/01/2022 21:32

I am an outdoor swimmer and so is DH. Both of us agreed this it entirely inappropriate and unnecessary. He could have worn a towel or robe. You have the right, as all women and children do, not to be exposed to naked men when you’re going about your daily business. He sounds at best selfish and at worst like he was getting off on it.

I agree with this. Nothing that I'd get very agitated about.
FFSFFSFFS · 29/01/2022 21:36

Lots of The the Be Cool predicatably….

This was aan adult man with his dick out where there are young children around.

That is really not cool

@DeeCeeCherry

It's always men flashing.

If it was a woman there'd be uproar on here. Show off, attention seeker, who does she think she is, how dare she, she doesn't even look good, and then descending into further insults.

Not at all. There is a time and a place.

I

OhWhyNot · 30/01/2022 13:24

I view men wanting to walk around naked when no one else is where there will be families with young children as concerning

I really don’t care if that is considered prudish I would rather be protective of children and women once again having their boundaries blurred by men than the fear I am called a prude

FrogIAm · 30/01/2022 13:24

Exactly, you wouldn’t do it at an indoor swimming pool.
Fair enough if you want to swim naked, walk with a towel and then drop it or take off your shorts in the water.

Tis a bold move, but not offensive and the fact we find being naked shocking or shameful is odd and kind of empowering for those who seek to shock. He was with two women, they must have been comfortable. It was probably a practical measure for him, keep the towel clean and dry in the car. Given the temperature, he probably knew there was not much to see anyway.

As for being a police matter, even if you had called, I hope that they would have had the sense not to prioritize this over more pressing matters.

OhWhyNot · 30/01/2022 13:36

So what if they were comfortable

Some people get a kick out of having sex in public places and getting caught doesn’t mean that we should all be comfortable with this

People seem far more concerned about being called prudish and will go out of their way to justify a mans desire to walk around showing his penis because he wants to

Lucinda7 · 30/01/2022 14:17

I hope the dirty devils flaunting themselves get stung by an insect! Natural justice.

2Gen · 30/01/2022 14:29

@LondonQueen

It wouldn't particularly bother me tbf.
There were children around though so, regardless if some of the adults weren't bothered, he was wrong to do it around children. YANBU OP!

Oh don’t worry - I think if there’s one thing we’ve learnt recently it’s that police don’t view indecent exposure as a priority.

Funnily enough, the first thought that came to my mind when I read this was "Dirty devil!", lol!

True, someone might have been putting up some stickers protesting about male violence against women, or possibly indulging in wrongthink.

A mosquito bit me on the bum when I went skinny dipping once :( (somewhere where there was no one else around, I might add, so the mosquitoes weren't even carrying out natural justice, they were just being bitey bastards)

But I hope a horde of them bite this man next time he tries this where there's other people around.

SamMil · 30/01/2022 18:31

I don't think this would bother me, but happy to accept I am probably wrong.
