Part 4

CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 30/01/2022 17:04

@Kennykenkencat

Maybe there have been a lot of unproven leaks from Cummings that have been proven wrong.

How would DC know what is on the floor of BJs flat?

Which leaks have been “ proven wrong”?
Kennykenkencat · 30/01/2022 17:05

Has he secretly installed CCTV in 10 Downing Street and reporting what he is seeing?

Anyone got a mental image of DC staring at a screen in an unlit room watching what is going on everywhere.

He is looking awfully pale.

Walkaround · 30/01/2022 17:06

@Florianus - “ He grew up in the Stockbroker belt and went to the highly selective Reigate Grammar School which became a top independent school while he was a pupil (although his parents didn't have to pay).” Are you genuinely suggesting that anyone who grew up where Keir Starmer did was upper middle class by virtue of living near stockbrokers?! 🤣 Would you also suggest that everyone growing up in any part of Kensington or Westminster in London was super-rich and upper class? 😂😂 Or that the entire population of Kent are rich and middle class, because it’s a home county? I guess you’d also claim the whole of the North of England is poor and working class?

(Keir Starmer has already said (in an interview) that he doesn't object to spouses/partners being in the workplace - he was referring to Carrie Johnson/Symonds at the cheese and wine gathering)

When did he say this, clav?

On the radio about two weeks ago. It must have been the same interview in which he couldn't say how many people were at the 'takeaway and beer meeting' in Durham. After flustering Starmer said; 'I usually travel around the country with a team of about six people' - but he dodged answering how many people were there in total/how many people were there from the Durham/Hartlepool team.

Politics4me · 30/01/2022 17:11

Boris is still 'the caretaker'. Tory High Command want him to stay whilst they decide who will be accepted by the Constituency Parties (and MPs), Sunak too young and too new a face to them. Truss not acceptable to MPs she is like BoJo.
Wait until the cupboard has been cleared of skeletons.
Boris will not be there at next election, by then he will be shagging someone new. I think the half life of his tarts is reducing at each iteration.
Next PM will be Mr Sensible, I can't see a female candidate who would qualify. Can you?

Alexandra2001 · 30/01/2022 17:13

@Florianus

cakeorwine: He is a top flight lawyer, ex DPP and 60 years old. I guess he has earned the right to get a decent house in London

Nobody is suggesting otherwise.

You are though aren't you.

anything to paint Starmer in a poor light regardless of whether its true or not.

Did Starmer go to Eton, did his close friend perform a sex act on a pig? did he and his chums burn money in front of homeless people, smash up a restaurant or did Starmer agree to help get someone beaten up?
Actually how many children has Starmer got and by how many different women?

Johnson may have had a upper class upbringing but he has the morals of an alley cat.

Not that it matters how many were there - as they presumably hadn't travelled from where they were working or living, in order to partake in a buffet, in a room which isn't usually used for eating, in order to celebrate a birthday, in breach of the law at the time.
Alexandra2001 · 30/01/2022 17:17

@Clavinova How many inquires into Starmers behavior has their been?

As its such a high profile and obvious breach of CV rules (according to you) perhaps you can tell me which Police force is investigating? or perhaps there is an on going CS inquiry into this?

I'm sure there must be one for you to keep mentioning it......

FatFredsFriedEgg · 30/01/2022 17:18

did his close friend perform a sex act on a pig?

Wasn't it suggested that that was a standard 'initiation ceremony' for the Bullingdon Club? Wasn't Alexander Johnson also a member of the Bullingdon Club at around the same time?

longwayoff · 30/01/2022 17:24

Twickenham is assuredly not posh; it's expensive. Even a house between the sewage processing plant, famous for miles around, and the rugby ground is pretty pricey. That doesn't make it posh.

cakeorwine · 30/01/2022 17:24

I think it was Andy Zeltsman on The News Quiz who put it clearly.

When confronted with a lot of people in the Cabinet Office for his birthday cake or when he went outside for the 'event' in the garden - he clearly should have said ' Thanks, but seriously, can you not see the optics of this?

Our workplace were going to have some potential events - but we stopped them - because even though they might have been in the leglisation, the optics would have looked awful.

And if an event was not allowed under the leglisation, the optics would have been terrible.

jgw1 · 30/01/2022 17:24

@cakeorwine

Did anyone hear this morning about Johnson leaving confidential papers lying around his apartment and friends who had the keycode coming in and seeing them?

He was told to leave his work in his office - for security reasons.

Given his wife and tradespeople wander around the office and end up unexpectedly at work meetings with cake and singing, even that wouldn't be very good for security.

We have Neil Coyle, the Labour MP, to thank for referring partygate to the Met and thus probably obfuscating matters.

This Neil Coyle?

thecritic.co.uk/potty-mouthed-politicians/

I was a bit surprised to hear Keir Starmer claim that Labour is a “deeply patriotic party” earlier this month!!

derxa · 30/01/2022 17:31

Johnson may have had a upper class upbringing but he has the morals of an alley cat. The Johnsons weren't upper class they were more bohemian intellectuals. Being 'upper class' doesn't preclude you from having 'the morals of an alley cat'

[quote Clavinova]The average house price in London is currently £629,286

April 2020

Starmer's home in Kentish Town, North London, is worth an estimated £1.8m. Keir and his wife Victoria, a solicitor, bought the house for £650,000 in 2004.

That's quite some equity!

My parents brought our house in a fairly nice village (suburbs) in 1991 and it's now 4 times the value!

But only worth half of what they brought theirs for in the first place 🤣🤣

Clavinova · 30/01/2022 17:33

David Cameron breaks silence on ‘false and ludicrous’ dead pig allegations.

Former prime minister says he found the story hilarious, not embarrassing.

Lol at the pearl-clutchy Neil Coyle article.
He did a Swear, so he is not to be taken seriously.

cakeorwine · 30/01/2022 17:35

@Clavinova

What does patriotism look like to you then?

I am patriotic - I love this country, I came back from abroad for this country, but I think it could be so so so much better than it is. I don't believe we should have a Monarchy. As an atheist, I don't like our anthem.

Some would say this does not make me patriotic.

What does a patriot look like?

There isn't Wink

But I think it says more when people have to keep pasting the same articles and keep mentioning starmers election campaign dinner as a defence of what Boris did.

If you frisky believe Boris did no wrong you shouldn't need to compare him to others to paint him in a good light. You should be able to use evidence about him to do that 🤷‍♀️

I am struggling to see how anyone who is patriotic can be a supporter of the current Prime Minister given how much damage he is and has done to the country.

He went to Eton, i think that qualifies as an "upper class upbringing" certainly middle upper but your dead right... anyone can be morally corrupt.

Having been bought up without a father, i find his behavior abhorrent, he should be neutered, disgusting man and if he was leader of the Labour party, my opinion wouldn't change.
