MYOB

overthethamesfromyou · 24/01/2022 13:11

Day off sick or day off holiday?

And MYOB Smile

vodkaredbullgirl · 24/01/2022 13:12

Tell the manager, so they can throw the book at them.

Seriously get a grip.

monkeysox · 24/01/2022 13:12

Myob

MrsTimRiggins · 24/01/2022 13:13

I mean, sure you could. Or you could not, and mind your own business given it’s completely unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

LubaLuca · 24/01/2022 13:13

I wouldn't snitch unless it had directly impacted me, but I'd tell the colleague to keep those sorts of secrets to themselves in future.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 24/01/2022 13:13

Did it directly impact you?

aristotlesdeathray · 24/01/2022 13:13

I think it depends

Did you need to cover their workload?

As if so it directly impacted you so I don't think YABU to report it

Margaret103 · 24/01/2022 13:16

It did directly impact me as her workload was then added to mine so made my day extremely stressful

Then report away!

Or, do the same back Grin

SirChenjins · 24/01/2022 13:17

If you had to cover their workload then yes, I'd say something. If not, then no, I'd keep out of it.

SirChenjins · 24/01/2022 13:18

X posts. Yes, I'd say something then.

StrangerThanSpring · 24/01/2022 13:18

Seriously!?

There's no way I'd report it.

Tal45 · 24/01/2022 13:19

Wow, they told you they'd skived knowing that you'd had to cover their work?? I'd dob them in just for the brass neck of it.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 24/01/2022 13:19

It seems odd that she would tell you that being as you were having to cover her.

I used to work with someone who used to twist things and report to management. One of the other staff used to tell her random crap like this (if they could prove it wasn't true) so she would report it and look like a dick.

Getyourjinglebellsinarow · 24/01/2022 13:20

Without evidence there's literally nothing the manager can do. All you'd do is piss your colleague off and make your boss think you're a busy body.

girlmom21 · 24/01/2022 13:20

Mind your business, Margaret.

MichelleScarn · 24/01/2022 13:20

But was it leave or a skive? 🤔

Getyourjinglebellsinarow · 24/01/2022 13:20

I'd just do the same back tbh.

MrsTimRiggins · 24/01/2022 13:20

Honestly, I probably still wouldn’t report her but I’d have told her at the time that I was fucked off and to not leave me in the shit again.

AuntieMarys · 24/01/2022 13:21

They are stupid for broadcasting it. I'd dob her in.

Viviennemary · 24/01/2022 13:22

It' cheeky. I would tell. Why should you pick up the slack for this cf.

SarahBop · 24/01/2022 13:25

THIS is your issue.

Speak to your boss, not about your colleagues coach trip, but about the fact it's unfair and impossible for you to be expected to do two peoples work when a colleague has time off. That's your issue.

Oh, and pull a sicky soon as payback. And have a duvet day Grin

Wherehasthecommonsensegone · 24/01/2022 13:25

Would they know it’s you that dobbed them in? If you do make sure you have all your facts right because if they said no I didn’t- would you be able to prove it?

Personally, I wouldn’t but I get on well with my colleagues/we’re friends out of work so it would make things awkward and I’d also have to fess up to them that I reported them or I’d feel dishonest.

WhenTheyComeForYou · 24/01/2022 13:27

I wouldn't.

Also, if I were your manager I would wonder why you told me. I'd think you were either a suck up or untrustworthy (to your colleague).

If your colleague does it regularly then fair enough, but if a one off, I'd let it go
