My must have feature in a car is having manual windows....having been trapped in an all electric car this is vital. My dh thinks I am mad. Aibu?

And it has ' Econ' not 'Acon'
My other (newer) cars had Acon.
Air con is a 100% must

Check the manual, normally pressing the “Econ” button turns off the A/C

I've never used my cruise control!

Driving in the US it was a godsend, and I couldn't wait to have it on a car here.

When I actually got it it was used a few times and more for the novelty.

Now the speed limiter is used for every journey.

Buttons on the steering wheel to change the volume/radio. My current car doesn't have it and it's so annoying! Just ordered my new car a few weeks ago and it was literally the first thing I asked 😂

That it starts, runs, and has air conditioning! Also, 4WD. (I sacrifice boot space for 4WD.) I agree, *@OP*, manual windows has always been a consideration of mine -- but for now, I have one of those automobile safety hammer/seat belt cutter thingies. I've also bought them for my family, friends, and co-workers. 👍

I got them for both our cars after that family drowned in their car on a causeway in Ireland. I think they y managed to pass the baby out to safety?

I would also have said ABS, but I daresay that's standard in all cars these days. Mine's 21 years old, so I have no idea what modern cars have!

Dual heated and air con seats and heated steering wheel!! Auto high beam as I live rurally on windy roads. Have both on my current car.

On my Ford Edge I could set the limiter so that I could not go over the speed limit, I could force through it using the accelerator if needed. This function was a game changer when I was doing lots of commuting and using lots of motorway and Fast A roads both with long roadworks.

Air con and heated seats. I won’t even consider a car without both of them.

They certainly are replaced like others, at a more expensive cost, & sometimes all the heating filament doesn’t work, it’s like driving through a barcode

Never had that - mine have been replaced via Insurance so the costs are the same - just the excess.

Decent boot
Reliable reputation
Decent view all round for parking
Decent colour

Wish list for next time in order of preference in addition to all of the above:

Four wheel drive.

Heated Seats. Absolutely non negotiable. And I'm thankful I have them right now because the heating has packed up, due to fan being stuck! Car is absolutely freezing at the moment 🥶😆
