To want a UK hotel room which sleeps a family of five

So, thinking about having a break in another UK city for a couple of days over half term just to have a break.

We're a family of five, three children primary age.

I envisaged a hotel room with two double beds, like those you get in US motels. Kids more than happy to share a bed.

We've only camped or cottages in UK before.

Now, despite searching and searching it seems that it is impossible to get a hotel room to sleep five. Which means two rooms, which obviously is much more expensive, when literally going to just be sleeping. We all happily sleep in one room in a tent.

So, good people of mumsnet, AIBU to hope someone can help me find a hotel room which sleeps five. Or don't they exist

its been quite a while since i stayed in one but Travel lodge used to do family rooms, ive stayed in a few with 2 double beds and a pull out kind of single bed, might be worth an e mail.
All very reasonably priced.

Sleeping bag and a roll mat and sneak them in. We've done this a few times. Two rooms is too much cost.

Premier inn family room, take a roll mat and a sleeping bag and sneak them in.

bear in mind if you get caught, you will be asked to pay for another room or leave the hotel. Also from a health and safety point of view, god forbid their is a fire and you only have 4 people on the booking, that’s all the fire brigade will search for.

The King Charles hotel in Gillingham does family rooms that sleep 5. You may well find other independent hotels that do.

We have stayed at the King Charles when visiting family in the area, but it's not exactly in a holiday destination. Excellent breakfasts though!
