Would you mind someone at your table having an injection whilst sitting there?

  1. Person being injected is not in your party
  2. Not insulin or anything immediately life saving, a vaccination

YANBU- wouldn't mind
YABU- it's gross

Why would they be getting vaccinated in a cafe?

Clymene · 07/01/2022 19:11

I don't think it's gross but it's really odd

Thehop · 07/01/2022 19:11

Insulin fine. Anything non time sensitive or urgent is attention seeking

Theballoonsinthesky · 07/01/2022 19:11

I would think it was really strange! Why were they getting a vaccine in a cafe?

SavoyCabbage · 07/01/2022 19:12

I probably wouldn't notice if I wasn't with them. And if I did, I'd assume it was important and I wouldn't have any information to tell me otherwise.

WorraLiberty · 07/01/2022 19:12

I'd think it was weird but no I wouldn't mind.

NoSquirrels · 07/01/2022 19:12

I can’t picture this.

A vaccination in a cafe at a table being shared by different people who aren’t together?

Sounds odd.

Sweetbabyrays · 07/01/2022 19:12

Wouldn’t really like the idea, I wouldn’t go back if it was a continuous thing.

maslinpan · 07/01/2022 19:12

I would be very surprised, would perhaps appreciate a warning, but I don't think it is gross in any way.

WorraLiberty · 07/01/2022 19:13

'Gross' is a pretty strange word to use though?

rrhuth · 07/01/2022 19:13

You need to say what it is, because anything medical no I personally would not mind. If it was lip fillers, I would be put off my food!

BlusteryLake · 07/01/2022 19:13

Well that would be weird for anything other than an insulin pen. Why would someone do that in a cafe as opposed to the GP or at home? I don't think it would put me off my food per se, but I would definitely prefer it if they didn't.

MaryAndHerNet · 07/01/2022 19:14

No thank you.

If I go to a cafe I wouldn't be expecting to share a table with people getting injections same as if I went to McDonald's I wouldn't expect to share with someone being anally probed.

NoSquirrels · 07/01/2022 19:14

Are you a paying customer in this cafe?

Or is it like a school canteen, workplace canteen or community centre, where the only viable space to set up the vaccination status is in the canteen/cafe space?

XenoBitch · 07/01/2022 19:14

I can't think why anyone would be having a vaccination in a cafe in full view of the diners there. And if they were not in your party, how would you have known what they were being injected with?

NoSquirrels · 07/01/2022 19:14

pinkyredrose · 07/01/2022 19:14

Context would help, why were they having it?

HopeYourHighHorseBucks · 07/01/2022 19:14

Medication fine, heroin I would raise an eyebrow at.

Comedycook · 07/01/2022 19:15

Horrible imo.

MargeSimpson00 · 07/01/2022 19:15

I know, was trying to be vague but I can see more detail is needed. Cafe is attached to apartments, isn't exclusively for tenants but mostly used by them. Large tables people share when not together.

Justheretoaskaquestion91 · 07/01/2022 19:15

Ok but injected with what? Medicine - fine. Heroin? Not.

fitzbilly · 07/01/2022 19:15

I can't imagine ever viewing an injection as gross in any way.

Would be an unusual sight but not gross.

ladyinthecampervan · 07/01/2022 19:16

I’m quite squeamish and I’d hate that. I’d find it rude and inappropriate.
Obviously anything essential like insulin etc I’d tolerate and just try not to look, but non-urgent injections shouldn’t done in a cafe IMO.
A first aid room, manager’s office, screened off zone or more secluded area would be fine.

HopeYourHighHorseBucks · 07/01/2022 19:16

But no I wouldn't find it gross etc. Strange for sure but luckily my eyes move, I could look elsewhere.

NoSquirrels · 07/01/2022 19:17

Homeless hostel or student accommodation?

Presumably the vaccination station was there first, before you ordered paid and sat down?
