To ask about super king size bed stuff...

I remember reading a thread last year of so many people saying super king beds changed their life etc etc - so I got one!

However after a good few months of having it I'm starting to find there's a duvet issue. We have a super king duvet and we still somehow fight over the edges of it.

I remember on the thread I read people said they had a super king bed and 2 x double duvets - I wondered if anyone could explain a bit more how that ends up working/looking? Can you see an obvious 'join' when the bed is made? And is the double duvet long enough? It's the same size as the bed and we're both quite tall!

TIA Grin

If your dog isn't covered in all sorts of crap it's not living its best life. Ok , let it in the house, but not ever in your bed. Eeeeew.

Tell that to my dog, she picks her way daintily over mud and jumps puddles rather than standing in them. Being wet and covered would be her exact opposite definition to 'living her best life' she also has a coat like a seal and everything just slides off it. If she ends up with a wet belly you have to dry it off with a towel as soon as you get back or she'll do so herself on the furniture as she hates it 😆. She's living her idea of the best life right now curled up by my feet under the teddy fleece duvet

To everyone saying nobody else sees your bed - I do!!

I don't run tours of my bedroom but I'm quite neat and tidy and I have weird issues with straight lines and things not lining up like I (weirdly) think they do.

The bedspread works wonderfully though and it smooths it out nicely so I don't see the join and I'm very happy with it!!

We have a fairly low tog superking duvet but have a lovely cotton quilted style bedspread that covers the whole bed and down to the floor at both sides. Looks much nicer than any duvet as it looks smooth and neat. It was from Dunelm and was very reasonable.

@liveforsummer my dog is the same!! She's never been in the sea!!

2 or 3 occasions she's laid in a shallow stream when she's been playing ball in a warm day.

All mud and puddles must be walked around and she won't use the stepping stones in the stream if she'll get her paws wet 🙄

@QOD that is tempting shame I have expensive divine wool duvets that I adore.

I don't find changing a single much hassle and tbf it's DHs job 🤣🤣🤣

I have a friend that went back to use a sheet then duvet and throw on top so never changed a duvet again.

I find the French duvet covers with a big flap at the end are good - they can be tucked underneath the mattress and stop the duvet hogger from dragging it all over to their side. But I suppose this is no good if you both want different togs. For pillows we use 3 normal sized rectangular pillows in a row and that is the same width as the bed.

I have a superking bed and purchased a new duvet from The Big Bed Company.

I got the standard Emperor in size 6'9 x 7 and it is just perfect - even though there is just me in the bed Grin
You can get even bigger sizes too, with all different fillings.

It was a lot for a duvet, and you have to buy specialist bedding but it's well worth it!

We have a bespoke duvet 320cm wide (by225 long) - it's ridiculously huge and wonderful and yet DH STILL manages to steal it!! He also does that annoying thing where there's like a tent in the middle and my front (or back) gets cold. I reckon a dicey each is a great idea!
