to be sick of hearing about Sporticus?

I have a 4.8 year old boy.

Anything i (or anyone else) can do, Sporticus can do faster, better, higher, braver, for longer. Sporticus is very strong.

"You're not that strong, are you Mummy!"

No, dear. No, I'm not. I may be fabulous at changing wet sheets twice a night, then cleaning up vomit from your brother without waking you on the other side of the room, controlling you both in supermarkets, making nice food on a budget, spotting that Vimto makes you badly behaved, making sure you have Christmas Presents, convincing you that automatic doors are controlled by dormice, and explaining that we eat fruit to make us do 'normous poos ...

But no, I'm afraid I cannot show you how to do one handed press ups like Sporticus. Sorry, son.

yes, you're shite
but tell him that you know people who actually have LEGS unlike most of Sporticus's friends.

Jazzicatz · 22/12/2007 13:44

Hahahaha my 5 year old ds has just got the outfit which even comes with a moustache, last night he slept in it!!!!!!!!

colette · 22/12/2007 13:45

My ds loves sporticus , I think he is on speed! The only good thing is ds asks for "sportscandy" = fruit.

melpomene · 22/12/2007 13:45

And at least (I presume) you change your clothes once in a while, unlike Sportacus.

XmasTimeIndigestionAndWhines · 22/12/2007 13:46

But you could try explaining to your 4.8 yr old boy it's because you don't abuse your body with steroids like I cynically suspect Sportacus does...

jellies · 22/12/2007 13:46

oh, where did you get the costume??? I need one! (not for me of course!)

Jazzicatz · 22/12/2007 13:47

Woolworths - he got it for his birthday! Very hard not to laugh at him in it though!!!!!

coldtits · 22/12/2007 13:47

I just asked him what he thinks Mummy is good at.

"Erm. Numbers? You help me do numbers I can't do!"

Shameless fishing there.

LOL. Next time he's whining for something, tell him to ask Sporticus!

Xmas, the guy who plays sporticus really is athletic - used to be the world aerobics champion. (I was amazed such a thing existed and giggled a bit, tbh but fair play to him, he has encouraged kids to run around.)

brusselbeansprouts · 22/12/2007 13:50

I can't bear Sportacus, the smug show-off. Created a very expensive programme just to show off his biceps.

"Look at me, look at me, look at me". I don't want to look at you.

XmasTimeIndigestionAndWhines · 22/12/2007 13:50

But his lunchbox is tiny - it's not like the suit he wears hides anything...

I'm thinking about this too much, aren't I? A children's tv character's lunchbox

coldtits · 22/12/2007 13:51

I can't believe for one second that Sporticus is straight. No. Not with that lip-shawl.

soopermum1 · 22/12/2007 13:55

i too am sick of sporticus but have managed to persuade DS, aged 4, to wear an eyepatch he needs to weat to make the muscles in his eye big and strong like sporticus.

have bought him the sporticus outfit with dancing music and phrases type thingy, am regretting it already.

to be honest, stephanie annoys me more

coldtits · 22/12/2007 18:05

Grrr his favourite thing to say when thwarted at the moment is "Huh! Move it!"

I don't know why.

Who is Sporticus?

I have teenagers - I'm assuming this is relevant.

Alambil · 22/12/2007 20:38

Very relevant! (pre-school/early school years appropriate superhero who takes the form of a sportsman - his super powers come from sportscandy (fruit) and he is super-healthy)

I love Sporticus and Lazytown.

DS has the cd/dvd for Christmas - I'm sure I won't love it for much longer!

WowOoo · 22/12/2007 20:42

Oh great, have that blooming song in my head now. Ding dong...when I am dancing dancing.

SantasLuckyUnderpants · 22/12/2007 20:54

'Automatic doors are control by dormice' i love that you convince your children of this!

chrissnow · 22/12/2007 21:01

coldtits you are lucky? when i fished at my dd1 (2.6) for what mummy does/is good at - all I got was {thoughtful look} trump!! mommy trump!!
She is sporticus mad too. yesterday she was on the floor desperately trying to do press ups. it was so funny - tea spurted out of my nose!!!

christmosschops30 · 22/12/2007 21:13

Cant say a bad word about him after dh taped some rich-list programme about him the other night.

He was offered a bet by a friend and thats how he got into gymnastics. Then he wrote a load of best-selling childrens books. He then spent years perfecting Lazytown before marketing it around the world. He runs the company with his wife and built his own (modest) house which he lives in with his wife and children.

I love that ds now thinks its cool to eat sportscandy and tries to do one-handed and one legged press-ups

natmatt · 22/12/2007 21:20

with his wife

i like sporticus!!

Nemostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 22/12/2007 21:27

JackieNoel · 22/12/2007 21:34

Mmmm.

christmosschops30 · 22/12/2007 21:35

Imagine your Dad being sportacus, how cool would that be. ds would think he'd died and gone to heaven
