Watching The Big Fat Quiz if the Year on Channel 4 and finding Jonathan Ross so irritating, attention-seeking and unnecessarily rude, just not funny.
AIBU to think he's had his day?

Not a fan either.

You're right! I remember Chris Evans on TFI Friday was always more keen to chat to ANY female guest and would usually go down to stage to talk to female artists (but not make)

I nearly mentioned Chris Evans as he was horrendous too. I remember when he used to call single women "spare birds". If I was in any doubt before I knew I was a feminist then.

Glassisalwaysgreener · 02/01/2022 16:32

Wasn’t there some story that Chris Evans used to go into production meetings naked as a power thing as he knew no one would dare object?

I "met" him in the mid 90's.

What actually happened was that I was having a coffee and catch up with my boss after we had been on sales visit locally in a North London tea shop.

We stood to leave and just as we were walking out, Jonathan Ross and a friend arrived and plonked themselves at our just vacated table. I got onto the pavement and realised I'd left my work bag on the floor besides the chair I'd been sitting at, so hurried back to retrieve it.

You should have seen the disdain and annoyance on his face as I approached, convinced I was a fan and after his autograph!

It was quite satisfying to say "sorry I left my bag behind" and drag it from chair beside him and walk off. He did have the good grace to look slightly embarrassed.

Believe me love, if I wanted to get an autograph it wouldn't have been yours!!

BBC could do with a good clearout of a few like Ross , Steve Wright on Radio 2 would also be in my sights

WiserMe · 02/01/2022 17:31

I really like Jonathan Ross. Totally agree that the ITV chat show is low rent compared to Graham Norton, but that says more about the global pull of the BBC than any difference between the two presenters - in fact GN has always acknowledged that Jonathan Ross paved the way for his kind of irrelevant relaxed approach to celebrity interviews. Jonathan Ross's Radio 2 Saturday morning radio show in the 2000's was hands down some of the best broadcasting ever. Oh and BTW he is a very supportive husband and father - including of daughters with mental and physical health problems - so very far from a creep.

Puppylucky · 02/01/2022 18:09

Irrelevant=irreverent

TerraNovaTwo · 02/01/2022 18:26

There are far better and funnier show hosts imo, and who aren't prats.

CAN1M · 02/01/2022 20:44

Jimmy Carr made a horrible racist joke about Romani women being smelly! Unbelievable! He's awful and I intensely dislike him

His daughters were campaigning against Police Officers getting 15% off at H&M because of I dunno.
My sister is in the police and was in hospital because she had been injured arresting a man for DV. I disliked him and his kids.

RozHuntleysStump · 02/01/2022 21:11

He’s a massive prick.

How bizarre Shock

Interesting, I find lots of tv shows seem to have lost tiger sparkle over last few years.
British comedy seems to have disappeared.

I wonder if it because the creative youth that would have injected life into tv now flex their creativity on social media?

DinoDinner · 02/01/2022 21:47

I find him incredibly creepy. I can't watch him on TV.

mjf981 · 03/01/2022 05:46

@Mayorquimby2

Not a fan but thought he was decent on that particular show.

Astounded there's so much hate for acaster, by far the best standup about at the moment.

What do people like about Acaster?! I really really don't get it. I just find him awkward and very very irritating..
