Watching The Big Fat Quiz if the Year on Channel 4 and finding Jonathan Ross so irritating, attention-seeking and unnecessarily rude, just not funny.

This is so true. I don’t live in the UK anymore, but we watch a lot of British tv and it is getting a bit repetetive to say the least.

boring and dull....like most of those on the tv....hence why i got rid of the set years ago !!

Personally I find Jimmy Carr much more cringeworthy tbh.

Hot Sauce - the TV company that makes BFQOTY - obviously look at all of the available talent when agonising over the very best people to feature in their programmes and then eventually arrive at the conclusion that their founder and director fits the bill perfectly.

I've never liked him but now he's just embarrassing. Trying to be all cool with the younger comics. He's not funny, he's crude and past it. James Acaster is funny though!

@Doggosaurus I'm well aware. And he was still "working" when they 'cut to the break' and he was still on stage making off the cuff quips, but actually funny and came across differently iyswim. I was just surprised.

Incidentally I've also stayed in the same hotel abroad as his brother, who is an absolute wanker.

He has a massive ego as does everybody else on all of the incessant game shows on lately, chat shows and other such rubbish.
I can't bear any of them. I think Jo Brand has totally sold out being on those tedious shows all the time.

I agree with this. It's one thing when a star turns nasty and deeply unpleasant to everybody the instant the camera stops filming their dating and or 'surprising people' show - but I don't see any issue with people switching from their on-screen persona to a normal everyday one.

Showbiz of all kinds is essentially acting/performing - I'm sure the lovely David Tenant didn't remain in creepy evil serial killer mode when the cameras stopped rolling!

Haven't watched the show, bit a bit like the Jools Holland thread, there are personalities on TV that have been around since the 90s or earlier, I am not sure how they get away with it.

Surely British TV needs some major changes, in order to move into the 21st century?

This is funny because only today my stepdad was telling us about when he went to Jonathan Ross's House to do some work and said he was the rudest most stuck up man he'd ever met.
Nigella Lawson was the loveliest lady he'd met he said - if anyone was interested.

How do you know if you have no TV? There is a lot of excellent stuff on in my opinion. Switch off if it’s not to your taste!

His long 'answer' to the Olympic beds question repeated over & over was deeply irritating.

I have a long memory and it's taking me back to a certain on-air voice message left on an elderly gent's answerphone.

I judge Ross more harshly than his co-twat in crime because Ross was a father of 3 daughters.

I find James Acaster creepily blank. I can't watch Johnathan Ross.

Agree. Jools Holland creeps me out especially when he plays the piano and looks over his shoulder at you! 😬
