Cream not chocolate ice cream.

Went to a restaurant today and the option was black Forest Gateaux with chocolate ice cream, that just seems wrong to me!

Hang on - dark chocolate and raspberry ??? Surely ???

I made a Black Forest trifle the other day. That was really nice too!

Ugh, chocolate ice cream/milk or ice cream make me feel really sick. Always have done ( & I detest Bailey's with a vengeance, so I should probably seek help 🤔 )

No thank you neither is improved by being combined with the other!

Oh bark interesting. Raspberry and orange are my two fruits permitted to be mixed with dark chocolate and I find they don’t diminish either. Raspberry usually cold desserts - actually also orange although this combo takes heat and stodgy better.
All other fruits off limits esp strawberries/pineapple/passion fruit etc.

Just as it is. And if it’s made properly, it can be delicious. My DM’s cousin was a chef & he made a Black Forest Gateau for my Auntie’s wedding. It tasted so good we had it for breakfast the following day!

I would just ask for vanilla ice cream or cream
Instead of the chocolate ice cream , always baffles me why people don’t ask for things to be adjusted on a menu - worst case they can say no.

My husband used to say oh that comes with Mayo or coleslaw and discount it but he’s gradually found his voice and realised the world doesn’t fall off it’s axis if he asks for a minor tweak
