To wonder why I didn’t get engaged this weekend?

(Lighthearted because knowing me I’ve probably got totally the wrong end of the stick)
Last week I stumbled across a ring box hidden away (I honestly wasn’t snooping I just accidentally found it while putting something away). Obviously I didn’t say anything. But now we’ve had Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day and no proposal.
I’m just baffled generally tbh as we’re not that type of couple, we’ve always said when we want to get married we’ll just start planning it together. We’ve had quite an up and down year with covid obviously and DP got ill in the summer, but we also had our first successful pregnancy so I thought maybe he’d decided to make a big gesture. But nothing.
Has he changed his mind? 😂
Was it not actually for me? 😂
It’s so silly I just keep laughing at myself. What’s going on?? 😂😂

My now DH didn't propose when he meant to on a weekend away as he fell asleep. He left it a few weeks after that waiting for a suitable moment before slumping down on one knee in our sitting room one Tuesday after work. I thought he was having a heart attack or stroke until it registered he seemed to be on his knees rather than collapsed on the floor and that he seemed to be saying something and giving me something.
A friend's now DH didn't propose as he broke his leg that day (they were on a skiing holiday)
A friend's now DH didn't propose as, having bought the ring, she said something about how she'd want to choose her own ring and he didn't know what to do
A friend's now DH didn't propose as he couldn't get hold of her father (he'd dropped it in the river whilst fishing)
Another friend's now ex-DH didn't propose as they had a row about something silly.

New Year's Day? While you're on a walk with the pushchair? Nothing good happens on New Years Day so he's going to cheer it up. Thanks what I think - but you have to peek on the box!

OP, it's been almost two hours since your last update. Surely he's done bathtime by now, gone to the toilet or you've been able to put something away in that drawer already??

“We had our first successful pregnancy” is the weirdest way I have ever heard someone say “we had a baby”.

Then open box with eyes closer and feel if a ring

It’s obviously a reference to previous pregnancy losses, still an odd way to say it though after the baby has arrived.

Wow I really wasn’t expecting so much investment in this! 😂
Sorry for the delay, he took FOREVER to get on with the bath then my dad phoned while DP was in the bathroom so I didn’t get to creep in and look then. I managed to successfully sneak back in while he was putting DS down and the box is still there. I got it out and had a proper look at it but I can’t open it, I just can’t ruin things like that, but I’m going to pretend I need something out of the drawer when we’re going to bed to see what he does 😂
He got me plenty of lovely Christmas presents, surprises and things I asked for, more than enough for me not to be expecting something else.
@HaveringWavering sorry if you felt it was badly worded, I meant we had our first pregnancy that didn’t end in a loss due to my PCOS, so this has been a very special year for us.
