To wonder why I didn’t get engaged this weekend?

(Lighthearted because knowing me I’ve probably got totally the wrong end of the stick)
Last week I stumbled across a ring box hidden away (I honestly wasn’t snooping I just accidentally found it while putting something away). Obviously I didn’t say anything. But now we’ve had Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day and no proposal.
I’m just baffled generally tbh as we’re not that type of couple, we’ve always said when we want to get married we’ll just start planning it together. We’ve had quite an up and down year with covid obviously and DP got ill in the summer, but we also had our first successful pregnancy so I thought maybe he’d decided to make a big gesture. But nothing.
Has he changed his mind? 😂
Was it not actually for me? 😂
It’s so silly I just keep laughing at myself. What’s going on?? 😂😂

Engagements tacked onto Xmas, birthday, new years are awfully boring and clichéd.

Maybe he has planned a special day to propose.

I knew when dh had gotten my ring (I saw it in a sale - and he is still tight!). He had roses(white my fav!) delivered on NYE and I saw a box in his pocket.. He bottled it and instead proposed on the 7th of January!! He doesn't know I saw the ring on the 31st in his jeans!
Been together 9 years and married 6 now.
Be patient op.
But personally I would be checking if it's still there...

No longer pregnant, the baby will be 1 in February so he’s not waiting for that, my birthday’s in January but it’s not a special one so I’d be surprised if he waits for that.
I can’t get back to check the hiding place at the moment because he’s in the bloody room! 😂 You guys are making me want to open the box but I just can’t, if it is for me I don’t want to spoil the surprise more than I already have! 😂

DH bought my ring in October, intended to propose at Christmas, mentioned it to my mum who said oh no she'll hate that, so kept it until the end of February when we went on holiday! It was lovely and much more me, it was just us, in a quiet but beautiful spot, I was also hot sweaty and without a scrap of make up because we'd hiked there, not for Instagram but then my mum's right that kind of thing really isn't me.
In your shoes I'd be hoping he's got it to propose after the festivities , feels less like a two for one and not as much of a cliché
