To wonder why I didn’t get engaged this weekend?

(Lighthearted because knowing me I’ve probably got totally the wrong end of the stick)
Last week I stumbled across a ring box hidden away (I honestly wasn’t snooping I just accidentally found it while putting something away). Obviously I didn’t say anything. But now we’ve had Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day and no proposal.
I’m just baffled generally tbh as we’re not that type of couple, we’ve always said when we want to get married we’ll just start planning it together. We’ve had quite an up and down year with covid obviously and DP got ill in the summer, but we also had our first successful pregnancy so I thought maybe he’d decided to make a big gesture. But nothing.
Has he changed his mind? 😂
Was it not actually for me? 😂

Yes he stopped me going in the drawer by asking me to check if he left the kitchen light on 😂 When I came back up he didn’t look like he’d moved at all but he didn’t say anything when I went to the drawer and now the box is gone! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂
We’ve been with family Christmas Day and Boxing Day and yesterday was our day to catch up on Christmas telly so maybe he’ll do it today (hopefully because this is already dragging 😂). I’m trying to slyly hunt around the house but he keeps appearing! 😂

Bit odd that you just threw it out there that you need to look in a certain draw why did you not just open it as if you were looking for something?

I did just go to open it which is when he suddenly said about the kitchen light 😂

Don't get disappointed if he doesn't do it new years eve/day.
If he is usually super organised he may have bought it in time for valentines. (Runs off with hard hat on, I know u lot will hate me for saying that)

It's requires a lot of courage to ask someone to marry you. Even after I had made the decision in my mind it still took me another 7 months to actually propose.

“We had our first successful pregnancy” is the weirdest way I have ever heard someone say “we had a baby”.

Clearly they've had losses .

Maybe you could just happen to plan something romantic before NYE in a bid to speed up closure for us all. A walk to a nice viewpoint? When you get there you could faff about with the timer on the camera to get a photo of the three of you.

If he doesn't propose then you have a nice family pic to remind you of the anticipation.

Perhaps he's just nervous or trying to find the perfect moment?
