It's on ITV now
It's the best Xmas film.

It has everything. Love, friendship, Bruce Willis running around shooting people.
And don't get me started on Alan Rickman

I've never seen it before so I can't comment but I do love an anti-xmas film. Gremlins is one of my favourites. And I discovered Krampus last night which I enjoyed.

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 22/12/2021 23:26

Watching it. Love it. And I have chocolate Grin

PieMistee · 22/12/2021 23:26

It's 1000x better than the misogynistic shite that is Love Actually. But isn't as good as It's a wonderful life

SammyScrounge · 22/12/2021 23:30

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal

I've never seen it before, so we're rectifying that now. So far, I prefer It's A Wonderful Life.
Me too. Watch it every year and I still laugh when the swimming pool opens.
100problems · 22/12/2021 23:31

You are wrong in that it's a tie between Arthur Christmas and Muppets Christmas Carol. But it's definitely a close second.

There are times when I think Alan rickman should've been cast in every film as he just makes every film better.

pinkcattydude · 22/12/2021 23:32

@Coookiee. Oh Krampus is good isn’t it

Sparklingbrook · 22/12/2021 23:32

Nothing beats Home Alone for me. 1 or 2.

Love Actually is dreadful though.

minou123 · 22/12/2021 23:35

Now I have a machine gun. Ho, ho, ho.

There are no machine guns in A Muppets Christmas Carol. Just saying 🤷‍♀️

Watched it last night (again) as we seem to have bought it! Love it. But omg her perm! Shock

dreamingbohemian · 22/12/2021 23:38

Much prefer Alan Rickman in Die Hard to Alan Rickman in Love Actually : )

FruityPolos · 22/12/2021 23:40

I like Die Hard.

But my favourite Christmas film is Christmas Evil aka Better Watch Out. I'm saving that for Christmas Eve this year 😁

KurtWildesChristmasNamechange · 22/12/2021 23:41

Nope. Love Actually is the best Christmas film. But Die Hard is a close second Grin

Rogue1001 · 22/12/2021 23:41

I love die hard.
And it's a wonderful life
And the muppet Christmas Carol.

And I think love actually is offensive drivel, which Richard Curtis clearly tossed off in 5 minutes after the success of 4 weddings

Rogue1001 · 22/12/2021 23:42

Ooo. We're at grey t-shirt!

Mookie81 · 22/12/2021 23:42

'Hans, boobie, I'm your white knight!'.
Love that guy, he's hilariously awful Grin.

Pieceofpurplesky · 22/12/2021 23:43

I indoctrinated introduced DS last year. Luckily he agrees

MintyGreenDream · 22/12/2021 23:43

Put the superglue down and exhale.Everyone knows that Home Alone is the best.

FestiveMelts · 22/12/2021 23:44

It's a total festive classic. Not THE best (which are Planes Trains and Automobiles and Jingle All The Way) - but it's up there!!

Love Actually is awful but it is christmassy 🙈

WeRTheOnesWeHaveBeenWaitingFor · 22/12/2021 23:44

1.Elf
2.Groundhog Day
3.Muppets Christmas Carol
You’re welcome

minou123 · 22/12/2021 23:46

I'm loving the passion for everyone's favourite Xmas film.

You lot are hilarious Grin

CiderWithLizzie · 22/12/2021 23:49

Die hard is my favourite with Nativity in second place - very different 🤣

dreamingbohemian · 22/12/2021 23:49

I've never understood the love for Home Alone but I accept I'm a big weirdo about this

Rogue1001 · 22/12/2021 23:53

@WeRTheOnesWeHaveBeenWaitingFor

1.Elf 2.Groundhog Day 3.Muppets Christmas Carol You’re welcome
Groundhog day is specifically set on 2nd February. Which would be... um.....

Happy Christmas

WilliamofBaskerville · 22/12/2021 23:56

This seems to have sprung up over the past few years, much like people claiming that Fairytale of New York is the only acceptable Xmas tune. It’s a great film. The fact that it happens at Christmas is incidental to the plot. But it’s now suddenly the ‘maverick’ Xmas film choice of oooh, a million people. It’s like claiming that you’re scared of clowns to make you interesting. A bit tedious. I love it though! But it’s not really a Christmas film.

WilliamofBaskerville · 22/12/2021 23:57

Also, Planes Trains and Automobiles, whilst another great film, is about Thanksgiving Grin.
