Neighbour and I both have Covid can we have Christmas together

Posting for a friend he neighbor has Covid and so does she. She’s brought in all the food for a Christmas dinner but can’t share it with family now I suggested she share it with her neighbor. They can aces each other houses through there shared drive ways so wouldn’t be close to anyone else. She was hesitant as it’s not in the rules

Of course they should. The rules can stuff it.

daretodenim · 21/12/2021 16:00

Great idea. It's not like they can infect each other, which is the point of isolating!

lanthanum · 21/12/2021 16:00

Seems reasonable - the chances are that they have the same strain. They're not going to put anyone else at risk.

Oliveoil26 · 21/12/2021 16:01

Thanks I’ll reassure her

I can't see why not. It's better than them both being alone for Christmas

uhohspaghettiohh · 21/12/2021 16:02

Sounds like a great plan x

User2638483 · 21/12/2021 16:02

I think they could and should 🤷‍♀️
I suppose that IF they didn’t catch it from the same source and IF it was a different variant and IF they cross infected each other that wouldn’t be good. But that’s quite a lot of ifs! 😂

Franca123 · 21/12/2021 16:03

I would definitely do this! They might have fun!

MMMarmite · 21/12/2021 16:05

No idea what would happen if one has Delta and the other has Omicron, do they risk getting both at once? That would my only worry

Normandy144 · 21/12/2021 16:07

Of course they should although I am sure someone will be along in a moment to say that they'll probably be endangering others by doing so. Let's face it if they're both not suffering from it and otherwise well and feeling up to it then they absolutely should. As we have all learnt during this time, you shouldn't take the rules too literally. Follow the example of our leadersGrin. You know Boris would do the same.

This is exactly why they shouldn't mix.
JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil · 21/12/2021 16:14

My concern is if they have different strains and merge together to create a new one. Where do they live so we can name it first?

Oliveoil26 · 21/12/2021 16:17

Both have omicron

OP posts:
IncompleteSenten · 21/12/2021 16:20

I would.

Covid positive only parties sound like a nice idea. You've already got it, what's the worst that could happen? 🤷‍♀️

madisonbridges · 21/12/2021 16:23

What a great idea. Why suffer alone when they can have an enjoyable time together? Omicron parties are the new designer parties. All the rage for 2022. 🥳

Rexthesnail · 21/12/2021 16:24

Do it!

LegoPandemic · 21/12/2021 16:25

It’s fine as long as there is cheese and wine

Chasingaftermidnight · 21/12/2021 16:26

If they both definitely have Omicron I can’t see any reason why not!

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 21/12/2021 16:27

Yes - the WHO have explicitly warned that you can be infected by both the Delta and Omicron strains at the same time 🤷‍♀️
Wheredidthequietgo · 21/12/2021 16:27

Definitely do it

heldinadream · 21/12/2021 16:29

My only question is do they fancy each other and is this likely to lead to unexpected shagging? Because if so, we're going to need ongoing updates...

whateveryousay · 21/12/2021 16:30

How do they know they both have Omicron?? Myself, DH and DS currently have covid, but no idea which strain?!

REP22 · 21/12/2021 16:30

As both have Omicron it seems like a wise and nice thing to do. I hope they enjoy their Christmas dinner together. Also that their symptoms don't develop into anything grim and they make quick and full recoveries. Best wishes. x

Pinkstegosaurus · 21/12/2021 16:30

Paint a Red Cross on the door and have a great time! My in laws, husband, dd and I did exactly the same thing last Christmas.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 21/12/2021 16:32
