Posting for a friend he neighbor has Covid and so does she. She’s brought in all the food for a Christmas dinner but can’t share it with family now I suggested she share it with her neighbor. They can aces each other houses through there shared drive ways so wouldn’t be close to anyone else. She was hesitant as it’s not in the rules

That's a great idea! Why be lonely when you can be with a friend?

Beautiful3 · 21/12/2021 16:48

Great idea, why not!

Santahatesbraisedcabbage · 21/12/2021 16:49

When my younger dd tested +we packed her off to older siblings house who also had tested +!!. She shared a room and other dd stayed -.. Worked for us.

I think when the scientists fear these combos is it not in the immuno compromised who are constantly ill? In most folk you are infectious for a few days then infectivity drops as your immune system kicks in. I guess if either is actually immunocompromised maybe be cautious..

icedcoffees · 21/12/2021 16:50

Absolutely they should have Christmas together! What a lovely idea.

AyeOop · 21/12/2021 16:52

I would
It's probably not the right thing to do but people shouldn't be alone if there's another option
There's no health benefit to that
I hope they have a lovely time

Littlewhiteballs · 21/12/2021 16:56

No, because if they have different variants they would mix together to create the ultimate Omega variant. We would then need a new booster evey 45 seconds otherwise we'll be denied access to Lidl.

Branleuse · 21/12/2021 16:56

I would definitely do this. A christmas plague & pity party

RedToothBrush · 21/12/2021 17:00

They aren't supposed to, but this is a situation where common sense says 'fuck it' because the purpose of isolation is to stop spread but if you both have it, then thats nonsensical.

I would in this situation.

As for Deltacrom? Bah. If its going to happen, its not going to be because two neighbours in Tonbridge Wells feast on Turkey together.

Yeah I think I saw a film about that with Gwynneth Paltrow in it. That bloke from Good Will Hunting was pushing his way into Lidl I think.
Mulhollandmagoo · 21/12/2021 17:03

@heldinadream

My only question is do they fancy each other and is this likely to lead to unexpected shagging? Because if so, we're going to need ongoing updates...
This goes without saying!!! Would be some love story Xmas Blush

And yes, absolutely they should, there is no need for someone to be alone at Christmas if it can be helped (unless they want to of course)

Abraxan · 21/12/2021 17:05

If they were house mates they wouldn't be isolating from one another, if they both had covid, even more so if they both know they have the same strain. I'm not sure this is much different.

Also by then, they will both be in at least day 4 or 5 so not at the height of when to contagious iirr.

Wheredidthequietgo · 21/12/2021 17:13

Delticron sounds like a transformer

PoleFairy · 21/12/2021 17:27

We are also considering this. Me and DH have covid, inlaws and his sis have covid. We are pretty sure we all have omicron as we have the specific omicron symptoms. We probably got it at the same carol service. Do we crack on if we still feel well xmas day

FiddlefigOnTheRoof · 21/12/2021 17:29

It’s against the rules but frankly I would. And I’m a rule follower by nature.

OldaRailer · 21/12/2021 17:30

Is it really?

Sebastianthecoo · 21/12/2021 17:32

I think you have to ask yourself, ‘what would boris do?’

Absolutely go for it, I wasn’t aware of the cross contamination of variants and it does come as a surprise to me as my ward when converted to Covid had open bags of four positive patients in each.

Just put a mask on the turkey.

Sebastianthecoo · 21/12/2021 17:33

Open bays not bags!

As I thought then!
FreeBritnee · 21/12/2021 17:34

Yes! Why the hell shouldn’t they?!

Binglebong · 21/12/2021 17:35

Spawn of Domicron - proper B movie there with a bit of nudge nudge wink wink.

PilatesPeach · 21/12/2021 17:38

Would it be possible to have a diagram please?

Nomorecoco · 21/12/2021 17:38

Brilliant idea, I'd not even thought of that!

GrandmasCat · 21/12/2021 17:39

Well.. it might increase the virus overload which can make one or both of them seriously ill, they do not know which variant each has and there have been cases in the past who people who died had both the Delta and a previous variant at the same time but, what is life without risks?

CoffeeMuggins · 21/12/2021 17:40

@Oliveoil26

Both have omicron
If that's the case, then go ahead.
