Sort of inspired by the Snoopy pyjamas thread.

Which clothes to you dislike for kids?
For me it’s slogans 🙈hate them, not keen on tv characters/cartoon characters and hate things like leather jackets

Baby jeans.

WasgijGods · 16/12/2021 23:18

Jeans on babies. Must be so uncomfortable for them! And anything else with unnecessary buckles/buttons/hard attachments.

High tops for children until they're old enough to put them on themselves. Impossible to get a tiny foot in!

WasgijGods · 16/12/2021 23:19

Haha cross post @hellobunny!

Just10moreminutesplease · 16/12/2021 23:19

@RussianSpy101

Baby boys in head to toe tracksuit and trainers Baby girls in tutus Slogan tops “daddy’s little angel” “cool like mom” Leggings for boys Young girls in inappropriate clothing- crop tops, heeled boots etc.
You’d hate my baby boy’s wardrobe… he’s always in leggings. Much easier to crawl around in than jeans etc though Grin.

I hate anything too restrictive or that prevents play. I went to a toddlers Christmas party today and felt so sorry for the little girls being told not to mess up their outfits.

Pbbananabagel · 16/12/2021 23:20

Anything that makes them look uncomfortable or like ‘mini adults’ boys or girls.

cookiesandtea · 16/12/2021 23:23

Babies/toddlers/young children head to toe in designer wear. I find it insipid. It's all over Instagram.

Nor do I like full on character clothing/slogans etc.

Just comfortable, child like clothing.

Obimumkinobi · 16/12/2021 23:23

Ditto crop tops, heels and anything too Adult.
Girls shorts which are always too revealing. Don't want to buy boys' shorts, just girls' ones which cover their butt cheeks.
"Friends" branded clothes/merchandise aimed at young children. It's not a kid's show - "Could there BE any more references to hookers and strippers in it?!"

rosiemanchester · 16/12/2021 23:30

@Justgivemeamoment

I want more dinosaurs in dresses, both DD are dinosaur mad adnlike dresses but most dinosaur dresses seem to be dinosaurs and unicorn - I mean they don't mind unicorns but what the hell do they have to do with dinosuas !?

Also decent length shorts please...

H&M do dinosaur dresses!!! My dd is the same!
Pumperthepumper · 16/12/2021 23:31

It used to be slogans, but now it’s Duns. Those horrible radish dresses that grown women wear to match their babies are so fucking awful.

esloquehay · 16/12/2021 23:33

M&S do some great dinosaur clothes.

Youarenotbeingunreasonable · 16/12/2021 23:34

@Pumperthepumper What’s Duns?

OP posts:
Tinkywinkydinkydoo · 16/12/2021 23:35

Small kids clothing covered in the “Friends” logo. No small children know what friends is to be having it all over their clothes!

Thatsplentyjack · 16/12/2021 23:36

Same. Character clothing, and shoes, and things with slogans. I can allow pants/socks and even the odd t-shirt with a character bit absolutely no trousers, jumpers, skirts, jackets or shoes.

Youarenotbeingunreasonable · 16/12/2021 23:36

How about Hunter wellies? I personally like them as they’ve always lasted well for my Dd, also just a simple design, but I can imagine some thinking they’re common maybe

A eco brand of incredibly ugly clothes.

Worst kids clothing
Fatarseflanagan09 · 16/12/2021 23:36

Headbands on bald babies, they look like Easter eggs.
Baby girls in frills and flounces, frilly socks, big bows and net underskirts, they must be so uncomfortable and itchy.
Toddlers in chunky gold bracelets and neck chains, pierced ears on little boys, it looks naff and tacky like mini Dellboys.

Youarenotbeingunreasonable · 16/12/2021 23:37

I like tutus on toddlers, but less so on tiny babies

Newborns in jeans🤢

AnxiousWeirdo · 17/12/2021 00:13

Everything this year was cropped. I wanted to find my 6 /7 year old some t-shirts / jumpers / jeans and it was almost impossible for a long time

guardiansofthegalaxychocs · 17/12/2021 00:17

School uniforms. If someone with no cultural expectation of uniforms was asked to design school uniforms they would look nothing like they do! Really uncomfortable and totally impractical for children. Even for teens, the uniforms are ridiculous - the only justification for ties, blazers etc is that it’s ‘preparing them for the world of work’…… my husband and I are professionals who have never worn a suit to work. I get irrationally angry about it Blush

User310 · 17/12/2021 00:17

Any child under the age of 2.5/3 in jeans. Must be so uncomfortable.

DrGoogleSaysSo · 17/12/2021 00:20

Animal prints, crops and bows

OhYeahyeahyeah · 17/12/2021 00:24

Anything neon 🤮

user33323 · 17/12/2021 00:28

Oh I adore Duns Sweden, mother earth and radishes in particular, but agree to not liking it in adult sizes.

My least favourite child fashion is football kits all year round. I don't know how people keep track of their kids, when over half of kids at parties and play centres are wearing identical football shirts. And even worse, they are paying for huge brand/logos. I don't like head to toe branded sports wear for kids not doing sports at all, but since it's been the most popular fashion for the last 50 years I guess it's not going anywhere.
