AIBU to be utterly fed up of seeing Snoopy in M&S

Am I only one fed up of seeing Snoopy clothing in M&S? He's on women's pyjamas, slippers, socks, knickers, sweatshirts and heaven knows what else. Do they really think the majority of women want to buy this stuff?

OP posts:

I like Snoopy. No time for Disney crap though. Yabu sorry….

Quackajack · 16/12/2021 22:19

I have the Snoopy t-shirt from M&S it compliments my Peanuts x Puma trainers.

dalrympy · 16/12/2021 22:33

I love snoopy. Always have. But even I didn't buy the m and s stuff!

OhGiveUp · 16/12/2021 22:48

I hate Disney, but I absolutely adore Snoopy.
I still wear my Snoopy watch daily, which my parents bought me some 45 years ago.
I have various items of Snoopy clothing, including PJ's.
I bet you can't guess one of my dogs names 😂

allycat4 · 16/12/2021 23:10

I love it! Have bought loads.

guiltynetter · 16/12/2021 23:18

I've noticed snoopy on a lot of kids clothing recently - M&S, tesco, primark....my children don't know who it is and it's not exactly on TV anywhere any more. I don't really understand it. Unsurprisingly all the tesco snoopy stuff was half price..

Thanks OP. Ive seen a nice snoopy top in there.
The character is having a revival I add. Vans, Levi’s and Cath Kidston have all done peanuts collaborations recently.

As for Metallica and the Rolling Stones, just because a musician is old doesn’t mean people stop listening, kids included.. My DCs could name you a dozen Rolling Stones and AC/DC songs and have seen Metallica live many times. Why shouldn’t they be able to buy clothing in their size?

One of my favourite things in the world as an 8 year old was a ratty Motörhead t shirt I’d had from Blackpool. It would have been a dream to be able to go into a shop and buy one.

MyNameIsElizaDay · 17/12/2021 00:04

Snoopy is the best!
Bought loads of stuff from M&S from baby to adult!
He makes me smile and that cannot be a bad thing.
If it didn’t sell they would not keep stocking it.
Walk on by if you do not care for it

For those looking for good nightwear that is not emblazoned with weird characters try Lands End. They usually have cotton nighties and great children's pyjamas. They seem to rotate their sales so keep an eye on them and nightwear will come up at some point

listsandbudgets · 17/12/2021 00:21

As for M &S.. everytime I go in there I feel a desire turn Percy into a bacon sandwich..Its jist too much..I love the sweets but today I was confronted with Percy Pig toiletries, soft toys, pyjamas .. you name it they'd put his ugly snout on it.

avamiah · 17/12/2021 00:22

I thought it was all peppa pig this year like the TV advert?

GellerYeller · 17/12/2021 00:25

I had a Timex watch in yellow with Snoopy playing tennis on it. A tennis ball rotating round the face was the seconds hand. I wish I kept it. Snoopy is on everything lately -my friend had a theory that the images went out of licencing rights so it's cheap for shops to use Peanuts on everything now.

I had one of those watches! So cool 😂
listsandbudgets · 17/12/2021 00:27

Is that what it was? Was fairly sure it was Percy.. either way ketchup time (.apologies to vegetarians)

ShowerOfShite · 17/12/2021 00:32

I'm not a fan of character clothing, bought for DC when they were small but preferred them in plainer clothes.
Absolutely hate it in adult clothing, I'm a grown woman.
I keep seeing a Crayola range of make up, that's been annoying me but I can't articulate why.
Too childish for me.

Yeah your right it was Percy lol

Apologies but they look similar hahaha

GellerYeller · 17/12/2021 00:39

@Ellieboolou33 Smile I'm not a fan of character clothing on me, but I would wear that watch now for nostalgia!
I loved the Charlie Brown Christmas film. It felt like they showed it every year (I've probably imagined this).

Ellieboolou33 · 17/12/2021 00:44

@GellerYeller hell yeah I'd wear that watch now! I'm actually looking on eBay for one as it's brought back such happy memories! Going to school and showing off my watch

I'll definitely pass on any character clothing nowadays as I'm about 3 decades passed it for that 😂

Changechangychange · 17/12/2021 00:46

@PruGnu

Agree. And Mickey Mouse etc on so much Christmas stuff this year. No thanks. Loads of Stitch (?) in Primark, who is stitch??
Stitch is a Disney character, and is a reasonably non-twee one, so that’s fine with me (on kids clothes).

Mickey and Minnie though, just why? Those characters must be 100 years old by this point. It would have been like putting the Fairy Liquid baby on clothes when we were kids. Who wants clothes with their granny’s childhood cartoon characters on?

Ellieboolou33 · 17/12/2021 00:48

I must go sleep now I've got to get up at 6am for work and school drop off...... I'm so temped to bid

YES! I went into M&S the other day looking for some pjs and it was all Snoopy stuff, then into Primark and it was all Disney. I said to DP when I got home that I'm a fucking adult and don't want cartoon shit all over my nightwear!

GrandTheftWalrus · 17/12/2021 01:01

I must admit I do like character pyjamas. I'm nearly 40 and still wear them. I also have a character tattoo however I got that when I was 18.

I don't force characters on my children though. I know many parents that "loved" something when they were young so put their kids in it.

GrandTheftWalrus · 17/12/2021 01:08

Also my dd(5) has a Metallica tshirt. She loves enter sandman etc

Alvinne · 17/12/2021 01:14

Ha! I have 2 different sets of snoopy pyjamas from M&S and I like the crayola makeup. I must be a child.
