I mean, really?

I actually thought the live announcement tonight was a spoof until 5 minutes through...

The man is his own characature

I get he's a new dad to 2 little ones, but he's also the prime minister - can he not show the British public at least a little respect?

🤷

He is a man who is very insecure in his masculinity. He comes from a family where thick fair hair is prevalent, and he has very very fine fair hair, so he mousses it and fluffs it before every photo-op thinking that no-one will notice that he's very thin on top. He has cultivated the slightly scruffy buffoon image entirely so the world just sees that he's a bit scruffy rather than thinning. Once he accepts the fact that he is balding ( like most men his age) he can get on with being a grown adult and trying to do his job. It really is pathetic.

SeafrontBingo · 12/12/2021 23:38

I thought he looked ill, pale & drawn, as he did when he was sick previously.

How can he be insecure in his masculinity when he's spawned at least 9 kids?Confused The seven acknowledged then the abortion and miscarriage
MrsSkylerWhite · 12/12/2021 23:41

He does. Sprays into into place too, obviously. All very carefully curated.

Works for Milton Jones. PM? not so much.

Knob.

He’s also going bald and the disarray probably helps.

GreenLunchBox · 12/12/2021 23:42

Anyway, I hope he continues 'leading' the country.

I wouldn’t worry I don’t think he will be pm for much longer. I think the party wants him replaced. There’s been lots of talk about it in the last week or so.

RedRec · 12/12/2021 23:59

Because he has such contempt for us he doesn't think it is worth smartening up.

Nah Nobody wants to take up this poisoned chalice
Yaya26 · 13/12/2021 00:48

There is a saying" It takes a clever man to play the fool". Boris plays a very convincing fool.

DukeofEarlGrey · 13/12/2021 01:50

I agree that there’s an almost contemptuous element to it. Just one more way in which the rules don’t apply to him.

1forAll74 · 13/12/2021 02:32

He looks like a cartoon character from old type Beano comics, like dennis the menace, only he had black sticky up hair.

FictionalCharacter · 13/12/2021 02:45

@BoundariesAlready

He deliberately scruffs it up - there are videos of it.
Yep. It's the "jolly old Boris, what a character har har" act.
SequinsandStiIettos · 13/12/2021 03:02

reaction.life/jeremy-vine-my-boris-story/

Carefully orchestrated to make him look less calculating when the whole buffoon act is just that, calculated and pre-rehearsed.

sarah13xx · 13/12/2021 04:09

It’s honestly unbelievable! Definition of dragged through a hedge backwards! It actually looked like a childs hair when they’ve cut into it themselves tonight 😐 he can’t be serious. Surely he knows it’s that bad!

Onehotmess · 13/12/2021 04:14

That’s part of his ‘brand’. He is an absolute twat.

BurnedToast · 13/12/2021 04:20

Some of my young American relatives thought he was a comedy act and not a real person. Says it all.

mallees · 13/12/2021 04:30

Any hairdressers on here? Curious to hear your thoughts..

ButtonSister · 13/12/2021 05:57

@Cyrilgoggin

I know one of his siblings quite well and have met Boris a couple of times through him, although I don't claim to know him. His family call him Al and the 'Boris' we see is a carefully cultivated persona. The 'Al' I met was quite different. Quite reserved.
Reserved, or just arrogant and therefore not wanting to talk to you?
milkyaqua · 13/12/2021 06:28

It's a look. I don't mind it.

BarbaraofSeville · 13/12/2021 06:28

@AlecTrevelyan006

It helps to cover up the fact that he is going bald
But it's not doing it very well and there will come a time when it will be impossible. One of the times he was in the news over the last few days you could see a very wide bald strip.

I'm surprised he hasn't had plugs to be honest if he wants to maintain that 'hairstyle' rather than do what most men do and just cut it very short, which usually looks loads better.

dayswithaY · 13/12/2021 07:27

Surely everyone knows by now it's all an act don't they?

The same way Tony Blair used to come out of No10 holding a mug of tea all glottal stops and sound bites.

A friend was in the audience at an event Boris was speaking at once. He came shuffling on, messy hair, shirt untucked, apologised for leaving his notes behind and then brought the house down with a word perfect speech.

It all became clear when he did the exact same act the next time my friend saw him speak. That must be very tedious for his staff.

baroqueandblue · 13/12/2021 07:53

Ken Dodd used to tip his head upside down and ruffle his hair to get the same effect.

The difference was, of course, that Ken Dodd was funny, whereas Johnson is just a joke.

pilar3 · 13/12/2021 08:22

I was looking at his hair last night and actually thinking it must take quite some effort to make it look that much of a mess. It’s the first thing you think when you see him.

Also, how old is he - late 50s? Surely he would be grey by now? He MUST be regularly bleaching it blond. Trump does the same. How did we end up with this?

How many men in their late 50s do you know who have bright yellow hair? I can’t think of a single one.

I can’t believe it really.

pilar3 · 13/12/2021 08:24

Imagine representing a nation with hair like that. Its beyond ridiculous and very tiring now.
