Do lip fillers make you mask exempt?

LindaBlinda · 07/12/2021 17:18

Because I'm in Sarf East London and it feels as if the only people I see around here now not in masks are young women with very large filled lips.

Do masks damage the filler? Or hurt?

@CloudyStorms

The sign of someone being exempt from having to wear a mask is that they will not be wearing a mask. That is all that's needed.
THIS with bells on

The thing I hate and detest the most about masks is how they've made people so fucking judgemental and cunty

So should someone that is disabled have to show a blue badge when using a disabled space? Or is the sign they are disabled that they are parked there?
Potnoodleforbrains · 07/12/2021 19:11

IMHO there are far to many knobs out not wearing masks, in morrison for instance whole family of 5 exempt 🤣🤣right OK. It just makes a mockery of the genuine exempt.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 07/12/2021 19:13

If you are exempt you can get a lanyard explaining this. It's not difficult.*

So people should advertise there vulnerability/medical stance and put themselves at further risk of possible ASB?

AwaAnBileYerHeid · 07/12/2021 19:16

You can usually tell a persons IQ by things like non mask wearing, anti vax views etc (medical exemptions aside).

CloudyStorms · 07/12/2021 19:18

So should someone that is disabled have to show a blue badge when using a disabled space? no
Or is the sign they are disabled that they are parked there? it should work like this ideally yes.

WorraLiberty · 07/12/2021 19:19

This thread makes no sense OP

Unless you go around removing masks from people's faces to check for lip filler, how on earth do you know there aren't just as many or even more actually wearing masks?

I think MN has hit peak weirdness and yet it's only Tuesday.

VladmirsPoutine · 07/12/2021 19:22

I'm sad that it seems to be the current trend for girls to alter their faces this drastically but I'm not judging them personally. Just curious and don't know anyone of that age group to ask.

No you're not. You just wanted to have an easy pop at them Hmm

XenoBitch · 07/12/2021 19:30

Totally different to being exempt from wearing a mask. Blue Badge holders have to provide evidence that they need a Blue Badge. They are not particularly easy to get.

One reason someone maybe exempt from wearing a mask is that it causes them extreme distress to wear one. How can you prove that? Call them into an office and have people watch them try to put one on?

Paddingtonthebear · 07/12/2021 19:32

People who are exempt shouldn’t feel like they need to advertise the fact they are exempt.

I do know a number of people of varying ages who choose not to wear a face covering. None of them are exempt, they are open about that fact and that they just don’t want to wear them. They don’t care about covid or if people wonder why they are not wearing them. They just don’t care about any of it. As a result I can see why some exempt people might choose to wear a lanyard.

Newrumpus · 07/12/2021 19:35

@WakeUpLockie

Heh. I saw someone without a mask the last few days at school and today noticed her child has a hearing aid. Felt so bad for questioning it (in my head)! People with no reason to not wear a mask have made us jump to conclusions about everyone.
Not everyone jumps to conclusions about others. Seems you haven’t really learned from this experience.
berryhead2013 · 07/12/2021 20:04

I had a lady come I
To the shop I work in creating. A big hooha about forgetting her mask and how she was gonna stay 95 metres away from everyone
I gave her a mask from behind the till and she promptly put it on under her chin and said ahhhh that's better wtf people are morons 😂😂😂 I tried really hard not to laugh but failed miserably

WonderfulYou · 07/12/2021 20:09

I agree.

I assume anyone who isn’t wearing a mask is exempt, whether they have a lanyard or not. Anyone can buy a lanyard and pretend they’re exempt anyway so I try not to judge anyone.

I also find the younger, trendier people wear masks more than the older generations as the masks are very much a fashion statement now.

user53782991 · 07/12/2021 20:14

Not wearing a mask is a sign someone is exempt.

This isn’t always true.

user53782991 · 07/12/2021 20:17

I don’t go up to them and question why they aren’t wearing a mask, I make sure to wear one and social distance myself. It’s really hard to tell who has a genuine exemption so I find it best to not worry about it really.

I'm neither judging not having a pop. I was very easily led as a teen and can't pretend if I wasn't early 20s and looking up to Insta stars I wouldn't do the same.

I think it's terribly sad so I guess that's a judge but I didn't want to have a poke at anyone.

Hence asking on here and not offending a stranger in real life. Because that really would be a crap thing to do.

@Doyouwantcoffee

I’m not wearing a lanyard around for the same reason my Jewish husband doesn’t wear a Star of David

Are you seriously comparing the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany with a requirement to wear a mask to stop the spread of a potentially fatal disease. Hopefully your DH can explain how offensive that comparison is. Angry

I’ve reported that vile post so hopefully it will be removed. I doubt very much the person is genuine.
gogohm · 07/12/2021 20:23

To those saying get a lanyard - anyone can buy one making them pointless. Working last week a couple had them on because they don't believe in covid Hmmtook great care in telling me they weren't exempt

Orchidflower1 · 07/12/2021 20:24

Sorry @LindaBlinda for the derail but I couldn’t let it slide.

GrumpyTerrier · 07/12/2021 20:29

New and exciting way to have a go at women with lip fillers!

I think MN has hit peak weirdness and yet it's only Tuesday.

I wasn't commenting on the % of people with lip fillers that had masks.

I was commenting on the % of people without masks that had lip fillers.

So not all people with lip fillers were mask avoiders.

But most mask avoiders appeared to have lip filler.

I'm exempt, but do you know what? I think it's so important to wear a mask that I've been wearing a mask in shops and on buses since a week before the first lockdown.

I reckon 95% of the people I see not wearing masks are CHOOSING not to.

GlintingFuriously · 07/12/2021 20:34

The situation in Austria is concerning.

Sorry to derail, but I've seen this a lot on here recently, usually from people darkly implying that the mandatory vaccination plans etc. are the first step on a slippery slope straight back to the 1930s.

I live in Austria. Not sure if the media reports in the UK are getting this across, but the neo-Nazi crowd are the ones screeching the loudest about having to wear masks and get vaccinated. Not to mention holding violent demos about it in Vienna immediately prior to the current lockdown. Just sayin'.

XenoBitch · 07/12/2021 20:38

If you can wear a mask, you are not exempt.
