am ranting......

have been ranting at Flame today and now coming here as it not fair to burn her ear off anymore.

I feel like CRAP.

lots of reasons, but all the other reasons wouldn't bother me if I wasn't 'on' and wasn't in pain!!

I suffer from endometriosis......2yrs ago I had surgery to help with it including laser/burning type to get rid of the inside stuff, removal of fibroids, something done to my cervix cos of something I can't now remember, and then a mirena coil put in to stop my periods/help stop periods.

2yrs later I am now getting a period every week (well, since my car accident I had so could be stress) and am in lots of pain too. this month (well, as of yesterday), I am in pain of the type I used to get plus the bloating. today I am hurting so much I can't stand up completely straight and also feel sick with it.

IT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT FAIR.....I was told the coil would last 4yrs.

and................girls are annoying me. two ebayers have either stolen my money or just being mean and slack with my goods that I need before xmas, couriers don't turn up when I think they should (sorry flame, just adding that in as an aside), kiddies are home all day because their lift got lost (another rant another time), have got to go visit my mother on wednesday (she is schizophrenic and I get stupidly scared of her, and my aunt who is dragging me there), DH is still hungover from saturday, show yesterday annoyed me (girls were fab, others are the problem).....oohhhhhh.

sorry......also got PMT badly for the first time in a while (at least a month), and feeling HORRID.

FEEL FREE TO PUT ME IN MY PLACE THO!

gently tho please.....beware of the ranty hormonal women

I had the zolodex and it worked for me. I was on it 9 months. Could I go down that route again?

Also is it the depo implant that stops periods? Could this help?

expat, if you come back here....

reply for you from 'disco's' thread, so as not to scare her for tomorrow.

after my endo op when I had the coil put in, I also hed a prob with my bladder, where I couldn't go either (they double whacked me with anaesthetic by mistake as my veins collapsed during my op and they had to give me more, plus the morphine hit didn't help after either). anyhoo.....they put in a catheter and tore my bladder, went into retention and then had a major bladder and then kidnet infection. took me 6wks to get over. I had the op on november 10th, was ony just better for xmas.

so wish I had had your tips then as I would have managed the pain and constipation sooooo much better then!

oh well, if I do end up having to go down the hysto route, will keep them handy for that.

A mirena coil should last for 5 years (although it is licensed for 7 yrs in Switzerland) Go to your fp clinic, it sounds as if your coil has moved. Your local fp clinic will be quiet this week but the doctor/practitioner who coil fits is most likely to be off over Xmas. Ring them asap and get a new coil. look here

ok....gonna sound really naive here.....what is zolodex???

I had my mirena out after 2.5 years as it started sending me loopy (well more than I already was!)
DH said I was a completely different person after a couple of weeks without it

A treatment for endo that puts your body in a temporary and reversable menopause. It's an implant that you have put into your tummy by a dr once a month. Stops your periods. Was great for me and I fell prgt as soon as I stopped with it.

ChristmasSendsMePsycho · 17/12/2007 21:54

sounds interesting.will ask doctor about it if my coil has moved (eeek[scared face]), or needs to come out...

and if it needs to come out can I have gas n air please!!!!!!!!

whoops....hello

OMG, psycho! that's horrid. i was worried about that, too, when i was cathed, but didn't have a choice, really. my surgeon was a climbing partner of my husband's and when he told me why i wasn't able to pee and what i had to do i just burst into tears because by then i was so sick of being stuck with needles and prodded.

sort of like how i feel right about now! LOL.

NO ONE gives out practical advice about the constipation, though. i've had tons of procedures and they just warn you it 'can' happen, but with anything other than local anaesthesia and opiate pain meds it's almost a given. i've yet not to experience it!

ditto the heartburn with anti-inflammatories and the thrush after anti-biotics. some won't get it, but a lot will and yet it's not mentioned much.

most tips i picked up through trial and error and i'm eternally grateful to teh nurse who told me to wake myself up at night for pain meds the first couple of nights after a big op and eat some banana before taking them and the anti-inflammatories.

it's just needless suffering when you're already down and best avoided it at all possible.

COMPLETELY normal to be nervous beforehand, too, and again, there are drugs to help with those nerves.

muppetgirl · 17/12/2007 21:55

zoladex explained here

whoops · 17/12/2007 21:57

Hi Psycho
I'm sure you have some strong painkillers lurking around you can take!!

ChristmasSendsMePsycho · 17/12/2007 22:18

am on lots of strong pain meds right now whoops, so yes, lots on hand.

since the car accident I have been given a choice of Tramodol (ok, but not yet feel able to drive on it), volterol, another anti inflammitory (errrr....can't remember name and climbing stairs right now beyond me until bedtime) and 30mg tabs of codeine (again, can't drive on them). also have co-codomol, co-dydromol, paracetomol......etc.

am a pharmacy for pain killers.

problem tho now is I am getting reliant on them, anf they not doing the job anymore. am soooooo determined not to go up to full whack tho so as o days when completely rendered useless I have leeway to give myself more IYGWIM?.

am on full whack today tho, obviously.

bloody effing car accident and periods and endo. got a damaged pelvis cos of two accidents 17mths apart (NOT MY FAULT I hasten to add!), and my rib damaged is also playing up today but that was my own silly fault for picking up DS2 as he was having a bad moment (he is only 5 and he is missing 'normal mummy' so much it broke my heart and I picked him up).

effing effing men....they don't know half what we go thro. (sorry....i know this has nothing to do with men but had to add a rant
