Would you go to a wedding next weekend?

Am vaccinated and RSVP'd yes. Not old or CEV but I am wary.

Would you go? They've likely paid for me already. I have booked a hotel etc.

Doubts over whether it will even happen at this rate.

Do you think it will happen? (if it doesn't, I guess I wait for now and do nothing) and if it does, would you go?

Absolutely I would go
How lovely to have a bit of normality amidst the cypurrent doom and gloom
Go and have a lovely time
Live for now.

Dancingalong · 01/12/2021 19:48

Yep I’d go

Doris86 · 01/12/2021 19:49
@Dozer if the vaccine doesn't work on the new variant and I catch Covid
Then you’ll probably get mildly ill and be back to normal in a few days.

RoseRedRoseBlue · 01/12/2021 19:49

If you want to go, go. If you don’t, don’t. It’s as simple as that.

BogRollBOGOF · 01/12/2021 19:49

I'd love to go to a wedding and have none on the horizon for the next umpteen years. I managed to go to one this year that was purely a basic legal ceremony and couldn't have a reception.

Anything to have a reason to finally wear fancy clothes and make-up!

Go and enjoy!

NigellaSeed · 01/12/2021 19:51

When this all started I was very cautious (for my own and baby's sake as pregnant, and for the CEV).

But personally I got to the point some time ago...maybe early spring, that this isn't going away, and we aren't getting any of this time back.

I would 100% be going to that wedding.

SummerHouse · 01/12/2021 19:53

I would lateral flow and go baby. Grin

You can't have been that cautious if you think CEV people don't matter now Hmm
Joystir59 · 01/12/2021 19:54

I'd go. I'm not ducking out if anything I've arranged unless things are cancelled or made illegal. I'm enjoying everything I can. Off to London just before Christmas to visit family and I can't wait

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 01/12/2021 19:55

Yes, I’d go.

itsallgoingpearshaped · 01/12/2021 19:56

Of course you go: you've said 'yes', they've paid for you, and presumably didn't invite someone else in your place. You are fully vaccinated and healthy, so you should go. Wear a face mask at the venue if you're still uncomfortable with gatherings inside.

CapBarnacles · 01/12/2021 19:56

Oh hell yes I'd go, and I'd bloody well enjoy it too, while we can.

MrsJaniceBing · 01/12/2021 19:57

@CoachBeardless

I read that the new variant is very mild?
But you have to isolate if you are a close contact of someone who tests positive so regardless of how mild it may be for you there could be implications.

A colleague -triple jabbed-has just come back to work after being off with Covid after attending a 40 person wedding so no, I wouldn’t be going.

Nicknacky · 01/12/2021 19:58

@Wonnle Why wouldnt you go to a wedding?

HesterShaw1 · 01/12/2021 19:58

Yes, definitely.

miltonj · 01/12/2021 19:58

I'd love to!

MajorCarolDanvers · 01/12/2021 19:59

Yes 100%

DillDanding · 01/12/2021 20:00

I wouldn't think twice.

We've got a hectic schedule of parties in December and we can't wait.

FestiveMelts · 01/12/2021 20:01

Yes, with pleasure!!!

coconuthead · 01/12/2021 20:02

I'd absolutely go! We can't hide away forever, life goes on

MLMshouldbeillegal · 01/12/2021 20:04

I would be SO excited about going after almost 2 years of doing nothing. Catching covid does not bother me. Life goes on.

DukkaDukka · 01/12/2021 20:06

I would absolutely go. I’m going to a Christmas party next week and I’m really looking forward to it.

SickAndTiredAgain · 01/12/2021 20:07

Yes, covid wouldn’t be concerning me at all.

riceuten · 01/12/2021 20:09

Yes, I would. I'd do all the right things, but, frankly, I am as likely to catch it down the Co-Op as I am at a wedding.

SelfHelpPlease · 01/12/2021 20:10

Yes, I'd go
