Yes! Completely agree

Pinkywoo · 30/11/2021 14:55

Yes.

CherryCoco · 30/11/2021 14:55

I agree with you.

hazelnutpraline · 30/11/2021 14:56

I imagine a particular facial expression that goes with it as well

@hazelnutpraline

No?
Big time. So pretentious
girlmom21 · 30/11/2021 14:58

I said it in my head in that annoying, pretentious voice and saw the head tilt too. You've given me the rage Grin

WheelieBinPrincess · 30/11/2021 14:58

Also ‘discuss’

Makes me instantly think, no, i bloody won’t 😂

KittensWearingWoollyMittens · 30/11/2021 15:00

YANBU, I hate it. So smug and self-righteous.

GertrudeBElion · 30/11/2021 15:00

Fractionally better than

'Non?'

Haveyoubrushedyourteethtoday · 30/11/2021 15:00

My daughter has started doing it. But her peers (for whom English is their second language) all do it, because in their mother tongue it’s part of the regular way of phrasing iyswim.

hazelnutpraline · 30/11/2021 15:00

@GertrudeBElion oh god

You're polite than me. I just say “Fuck off!”
GetTheFlockOutOfHere · 30/11/2021 15:47

@hazelnutpraline

Ooooh, YANBU! It really fucking pisses me off to the nth degree. It barely even makes sense! I cringe inwardly when I see someone type it on here.

'So you agree that this wouldn't happen no?'

FUCK. OFFFFFFFFF! Angry

PleasantBirthday · 30/11/2021 15:49

It really brings out the narky, oppostitional teenager in me.

HollowTalk · 30/11/2021 15:50

I agree - and yes there's always an implied head tilt.

Yeah - a bit like this... with a side-order of head-tilt......
Adding “No?” to the end of a statement makes you sound a bit twatty
Notstrongandstable · 30/11/2021 15:51

In a similar vein, well used phrase on MN...
Blah blah blah , x much?

Eg jealous much?

Hate it!

REP22 · 30/11/2021 15:53

I don't like it. Also people who start sentences with "So" and colleagues who begin professional emails with "Hey,".

I'm not about to arm myself with a specially-sharpened biro, but it does tick me off...

Minceandonions · 30/11/2021 15:56

Agreed. I find it very patronising and rude.

SirChenjins · 30/11/2021 15:57

Oh god yes - 'no' and 'discuss' automatically make that person a dick, no question. I also take an instant dislike to people who start a sentence with 'listen'. Prats.

Yes!! Me too!

When my DH asks me a question he says ‘say’ at the end. If he wasn’t such a lovely person I think I would smash his face in.

The only people I know of who do this speak Spanish as their frist language, so I expect it. I think it would piss me off from a native English speaker though.

Ha, my pet peeve.
