Teenage girls are total dicks

Codswallop20 · 25/11/2021 20:29

They really are. Selfish hormone driven cock wombles.

I think they should all be forced to live on an island and only be allowed to return when they are sane.

AIBU??

Oh god I have found my people.
DD was 14 last week she has been a nightmare for the past few years.
I mean I love her with all my heart, she can be really lovely company but Jesus she is hard work too.
Miserable, attitude, life is all against her.
We have had some issues around self harm in the past couple of years and rather than tantrums I get the silent treatment- which you may not believe but I think can be just as bad.

I do get glimpses of my lovely, happy girl and hope we can make it out the other side really soon.

DS is almost 16, he was a nightmare until about age 10. Now is really lovely and gives me no cause for worry at all.
DD is responsible for my high blood pressure I am sure.

canary1 · 25/11/2021 22:05

I was a terrible teenager but became an adult eventually- this too will pass.

Babyroobs · 25/11/2021 22:06

Totally agree. I have 3 ds's then a 16 year old dd. I'm so relieved it wasn't the other way around.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 25/11/2021 22:07

I was an utter twat.

I have boys and would have quite happily sent ds1 to an island from 13-16. Ds2 is 18 and has always been a lovely teen. Dad loos to be going the same way as ds1

Thebestusername1 · 25/11/2021 22:07

Your 100 percent right. I was a demon child until i was around 19.my daughter is a preteen and the other one is 13 in a few weeks help us all

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 25/11/2021 22:08

Ds3 not dad's loo 😡

OverTheRubicon · 25/11/2021 22:09

If it's any consolation, I was an angelic and extremely mature teen (unlike my siblings), then hit my cockwomble phase at 18, and therefore made loads of fairly terrible life choices that noone could stop as I was legally adult and had moved overseas. I put my poor mum through a lot, she'd probably have swapped even for the sibling who adopted a rat as a protest against animal testing.

mrsm43s · 25/11/2021 22:11

I have 2 teenagers. They're funny and kind and earnest and thoughtful. They are also frequently self centred, irrational twats. But they're MY twats and I bloody love them.

There's time yetGrin[/quote]
She was a total demon from the ages of 1-8. I hope I've done my time 😂

megletthesecond · 25/11/2021 22:14

Probably yanbu. Even the sensible ones out of DD's friends can be awful. My heart sinks whenever I've spot checked her phone.

DS and his mates are lovely. I've never seen anything mean on his phone or had a moment of trouble from him.

Confiscatedpopit · 25/11/2021 22:16

@Minfilia

I have four teenagers - 3 are boys, 1 is a girl.

At 9-10 DD was the worst. A hormonal nightmare.

Now she’s 16 she’s a delight.

Her brothers, on the other hand, are total fucking dumbasses who appear to be competing weekly for a Darwin Award Hmm

Comment of the day for me Grin so funny!
Toddlerteaplease · 25/11/2021 22:18

My mum said I was "the perfect teenager" Grin

Tiredalwaystired · 25/11/2021 22:19

I like my teenager

hides before lynched

josssie · 25/11/2021 22:20

Mine was never like this. I did notice other parents suffering, but noticed also the lack of interest in their children in senior school and kinda gave their kids a label... oh they're in their room all the time, they're lazy, can't be bothered, won't listen etc.,
I really enjoyed parenting my daughter at senior school, coaching and teaching how to deal with different situations, how to argue/stand her ground and not bite... how to be sassy and understand what's really going on with other people and why they're so bitchy... how to evade fights, how to network and make friends and why. How to negotiate, plan and think about her future, what type of job she wanted, how much she wanted/needed to earn if she wanted a nice house, car and holiday... and more...
I know it's easier said than done and takes time to really find out what's going on with your child... but you definitely need an open mind and not judge...
good luck, hope you get to enjoy it as much as I did and still most definitely do x

I assume this is supposed to be light hearted but crikey!

I'm sorry you have a dick of a DC.

Such a strong post though and saying all!

Obviously you are being totally unreasonable!

(It's usual for teenagers to be dicks, always have been! I was and my brother too Grin

You need to give it time but often years though sorry. Chin up and good luck!).

Interesting.

All teenage girls though? Really?

josssie · 25/11/2021 22:23

I guess I should also say my parents were v f toxic when I was a teenager and this definitely messed me up for a good few years

practicallyperfectwithprosecco · 25/11/2021 22:24

Thank god I'm not alone dd turns 18 in a few days and at the moment is absolutely vile - and if I dare pull her up on her rudeness I get accused of snapping at her.
Dd16 isn't much better

Please tell me boys aren't this bad - 10 year old is still quite sweet.

Thank god for gin

Charlize43 · 25/11/2021 22:25

I was awful and my mum always said that us girls were worse than the boys. YANBU.

Thecurliestwurly · 25/11/2021 22:25

@Tillymintpolo

I was a twat YANBU
This made me laugh. Glad I wasn't the only one!

Do teenage girls still sing crap songs and swear extra loudly on the bus? I haven't sat on the top deck of a bus during school kicking out time for ages, but I always used to wonder how the hell school teachers put up with teenage girls.and cringe because I used to be one of them.

StickyStickyStickStickSong · 25/11/2021 22:28

I was that dickhead who had to get her stomach pumped because 2 litres of Frosty Jack and half a bottle of MD2020 sounded like a good idea at 13.... 🙄
Then once I "grew up a bit" i thought I'd take it easy in future with some cheap Glenns vodka and boost energy drink every Friday over the park 🤢
I was a saint in school teachers pet in every class 😇 but good god I hope mine don't do half the stuff I did 🤞🙏🏻
My poor mother 😳

I bet this Has astonished all the people who have tough teenage girls- if only they'd understood what to do before now. Wink
