They really are. Selfish hormone driven cock wombles.

I think they should all be forced to live on an island and only be allowed to return when they are sane.

AIBU??

Came to post this Grin it gets better!
Exhausteddog · 25/11/2021 21:48

My DD is 15 and despite minor digs and insults on a regular basis is generally lovely and good company.

DrDreReturns · 25/11/2021 21:48

In the space of a year DD (who is now 12) has gone from being lovely to a complete nightmare. Moody, rude and just unpleasant to be with. Until fairly recently she was the complete opposite.
I have heard from friends that year 9 is a really difficult age for girls.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/11/2021 21:49

Satan in a frock Grin

DarlingFell · 25/11/2021 21:49

@entropynow

Maybe yours are. Mine are not

There's always one who has to have the smug little dig

Yep. You have to wonder what drives them, I can imagine their smug little faces as they type out their comment. They are quite entertaining though Grin

Luredbyapomegranate · 25/11/2021 21:50

Yep. 11 to 14 I was an utter cunt. I mean I was miserable - but I didn't half make sure I took everyone else with me.

BitterTits · 25/11/2021 21:50

Well by and large I think they're great, and I know hundreds of them!

couchparsnip · 25/11/2021 21:51

I agree. I just brushed a piece of lint off DDs shoulder and she reacted like I had smacked her, said "Don't touch me" and gave me a look as if I was a piece of dirt.
Looking forward to her growing out of this phase!

maofteens · 25/11/2021 21:51

Nope my 16 year old is hardworking, respectful and great company.
My teenage son, however, tests me constantly. (He is also great company but OMG is so much more work.)

icedcoffees · 25/11/2021 21:52

YANBU - I was a nightmare as a teenager, an absolute nightmare Blush

My mum is now one of my best friends though and we've been really close since I was about nineteen, so there is hope!

LadyCampanulaTottington · 25/11/2021 21:53

I was a monster until 18.

DD was a horror show from 13 to 16.

She’s 20 now and a dream.

Sparklebrandy · 25/11/2021 21:53

Book her a seat on the plane! Complete cockwomble - seriously. Has brightened my day to know I'm not alone lol x

Emmelina · 25/11/2021 21:53

Currently sat in just phone light with a large gin on a school night. DD14 has just gone upstairs finally 😬

GoodnightGrandma · 25/11/2021 21:55

I didn’t have a problem with my daughter, she’s very sensible. My son was a different thing entirely !

DrMadelineMaxwell · 25/11/2021 21:57

Dd1 now 21. Delightful. Easy.

Dd2. 17. Has been really hard work since about the age of 11. Can be brilliant. Can be really gobby.

Benjispruce5 · 25/11/2021 21:58

Yep

In short: YANBU, in spades.
GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 25/11/2021 22:00

It’s great when they finally pass their driving test and actually want to go to Asda for you. 🙂

Benjispruce5 · 25/11/2021 22:01

Oh the smug parents of 15 year olds. There’s plenty of time yet!Grin

Oh my, I remember when I was in year 9. I went nuts. Looking back, I had no idea who I was and really felt like I was stumbling through life. I was really shy, but then became loud and rebellious over the course of a few months. Kind of the same for many years after too, but it all kicked off for me in year 9.
whenwillthemadnessend · 25/11/2021 22:02

Oh yes totally agree OPmine goes from sweet to sour in a nano second. The last year has been awful. Roll on sixth form.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 25/11/2021 22:05

You a teacher by any chance OP?
Funnily enough I was talking to a year 11 girl last week who said “Miss was I really horrible to you when I was younger? Do you think I’m better now?” And she was then (close to permanent exclusion more than once, made a few teachers doubt their career choice) and she’s lovely now.
