Today he stumbled through a talk addressing business men and talked at length about Peppa Pig World

Do you think someone had muddled up all his papers on purpose, so he lost his place @mantlepiece ?

That thought crossed my mind.

Exhausteddog · 22/11/2021 23:19

Irrelevant of how much anyone hates Boris the issue is there is literally no credible opposition.

This is the depressing thing
We're stuck with him because (quite unbelievably) enough people thought he was the best choice to run the country. That was 2 years ago....and there is still no obvious contender to take over (either in his own, or an opposing party)
To be honest he's probably done David Cameron and Teresa May a favour because he's manage to eclipse how shit they were.

Great BBC take on it…the man is a buffoon, and the Tory party are at the point of saying enough already . But who next?

Gosh, their kid needs a haircut! 😂
Anonymouseposter · 22/11/2021 23:28

Very embarrassing speech. He had either been drinking or was loosing it. I'm more concerned that the Social Care Bill was passed. The very poor will have care covered. The rich will keep most of their money. People who have had modest incomes and own a small house in the North will lose all their assets.
Extremely unfair piece of legislation.
Is there really no better alternative than the current government??

pigsDOfly · 22/11/2021 23:36

Nothing's going to happen to him. He'll be around for a while yet, still spouting bollocks.

Somehow he seems to survive each and every cock up; Teflon Man personified.

He's a liar and a cheat and he made a complete hash of being London's Mayor. How anyone could have thought he'd do any better at being PM is beyond me but people voted for him. There he is and there he'll stay.

ClaudiusTheGod · 22/11/2021 23:38

I think he very much likes the idea of being 'the boss of the UK,' but quite frankly he can't be arsed with doing any of the work or taking any of the responsibility that comes with it.

This was a common criticism of Cameron when PM but Johnson is making him look like a workaholic in comparison.

Darker · 22/11/2021 23:39

He didn’t make a hash of being Mayor, at least by his own measure of success. He got what he wanted.

He doesn’t think about the people.

What's wrong with Labour? Every time I see the news/Newsnight/Question time/ listen to Radio 4 etc I'm impressed with Labour MPs. I don't understand what people mean by 'no opposition'.

Keir Starmer might not have a huge personality. But do we want that. BJ has a huge personality, supposedly, and he's a pile of shit as a PM. At least KS has intelligence and integrity.

Also - on a more superficial level - but actually it's not superficial at all. Have you noticed how many women make up Labour? When I see the Tory side of parliament it's all men in suits.

So how is Labour not a good alternative?

Indeed. The bill also removes the need for contracts to go to public tender. Shocker 🙄🤔
TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/11/2021 23:46

Also, in what way is the social care bill going to actually help the care sector? Paying more national insurance so that (some) people can keep their inheritance - what about actually funding the sector properly? Upping carer wages. Improving conditions so that they get paid for travel time and get decent pensions? Putting some money in to retain social workers, occupational therapists, mental health staff and all the other professionals who keep the wheels on the bus for a large group of vulnerable people?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/11/2021 23:47

So far the suggestions I’ve seen have been 1. Euthanise the elderly/infirm.

  1. Keep hold of the old inheritance.

Yes, I think so. When you think of situations in the past (him and Carrie having a late night screaming match in her flat etc.) that we’re totally covered for as opposed to the last few weeks.

The king is dead. Long live the King/Queen!

Bcause, no matter how shit the tories are (and they are) hell will freeze over before I vote for a party led by someone who doesnt know what a woman is.I cannot vote for people that spout manifest bollocks.
Anonymouseposter · 22/11/2021 23:59

Russianmax I agree that Labour would be a better alternative but most people don't seem to think so.
In Wales and Scotland Plaid Cymru and the SNP are affecting the Labour vote. Plaid might not win many seats but the anti Tory vote is split and seats go to the Tories. Any of them would be better.

I respect this - I really do.

But are you ok with the Tories being in power forever and forever and ever then? I don't think they give a shit about women. Are there any women in the Tory party? To me the Tory party looks like a sea of old men in suits.

Angela Rayner alone is enough the make the party completely unelectable. The woman is absolutely vile.

Haven't you noticed what's being done to women? A leader of a party who won't confirm that women have vaginas certainly doesn't have "integrity". I watched some of the Labour party conference - it was an absolute nightmare. A surreal, aggressive nightmare. I hate the Tories, but Labour are in a desperate state.
FictionalCharacter · 23/11/2021 00:16

Yet people laugh and applaud. He’s been doing this for a long time and he’s still there. Remember the speech where he was rambling about limbless chickens and fridges beeping for more cheese? He thinks he’s funny, and he doesn’t take his job the tiniest bit seriously.

Thedogscollar · 23/11/2021 00:31

Bloody hell if this is what an Eton education spews out I'd want my money back.

Cringeworthy and worsening on a daily basis.

No, I've never voted tory before and would only do so now if it were a choice between them and the rest which have got pissed on the woo woo Kool Aid. Throwing 50% of the population under the bus is worse than voting Tory.
plinkplinkfizzer · 23/11/2021 00:43

I reckon he had a row with Carrie on Sunday night so she reshuffled his speech for him and sat at home in hysterics as she watched it all happen 😂😈 .

waltzingparrot · 23/11/2021 00:55

To be fair, Peppa Pig is exported to 180 countries across the globe - quite a British export success story. Very inspiring stuff for all those business leaders. Grin

Labour are affecting the Labour vote in Scotland, not the SNP. The assumption that Scottish votes belong to Labour is breath-taking arrogance from a party who won't "allow" or even consider a second indyref, despite support for just that still sitting around the 50% mark.
Choux · 23/11/2021 01:10

I think Johnson wants out.

Ex PM’s get 50% salary for life + £115k a yr as public duty allowance + a government car. That’s £200k a yr plus all the public speaking, column and book writing, freebies and bungs he can get. And Carrie won't be able to bend his ear with all her ideas for running the government and country.

DdraigGoch · 23/11/2021 01:33

@Howshouldibehave

Is it deliberate distraction?! Whilst people are talking about his shit speech about a car and Prppa Pig, they aren’t talking about his care bill!
Are you saying that it's a dead cat approach? If you're in a meeting which isn't going well for you, you sling a dead cat on the table and everyone is too busy being revolted to remember what the meeting was about.
