To ask for your coffee

Coffee is now something I endure rather than enjoy. I usually go for whatever I can get. Probably taylors as that's in a shop I pass on thr way to work although supermarket own brands are often purchased as well.

But I'm.bored of them and the disgusting weird tasting yuck I have in the tin at the moment has tipped me over the edge .

What do you all put in your Coffee machines.

I want a nice coffee I can sit and relax with that serves a purpose a bit more than just perking me up for the school run

Any chance you could be pregnant?

I go right off coffee when I am, it’s the weirdest thing. It suddenly tastes horrible. And I LOVE coffee.

Igmum · 20/11/2021 20:16

Manumit www.manumitcoffee.co.uk/. Lovely coffee, ethical company and they post it to me

MistyFrequencies · 20/11/2021 20:17

Warbler and Wren Coffee. They're Irish.

RealBecca · 20/11/2021 20:19

Try an independent. I love a honduras one a local shop sells.

OneTC · 20/11/2021 20:23

I use a pour over with Monmouth coffee, freshly ground

Anything from these guys

Fantastic coffee, we had the Christmas blend last yea4 and it was superb. We have a tassimo machine but reusable pods so can put any coffee into it. Dh works in the area that's covered by the link and we drink their coffee regularly. Also like the Tesco own brand fair trade Guatemalan blend. Try to buy fair trade if we can.

Currently drinking a Rwandan coffee that our guest who stayed with us for COP26 brought as a gift. Best coffee I've ever had but probably not available in the uk.

cannaethink · 20/11/2021 20:28

Cafe direct Machu Picchu is my current favourite. Either in a cheap cafetière or a stove top pot.

Waitwhat23 · 20/11/2021 20:30

We have a coffee subscription with Pilgrim's Coffee (based on Lindesfarne). I use a grinder then a Mokka pot.

Coffee4Queen · 20/11/2021 20:36

Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. It’s expensive but it’s my treat. I don’t ever drink coffee at cafés or coffee shops as I know I will alway be disappointed it’s not Jamaican Blue!

NotMeNoNo · 20/11/2021 20:46

Support your local coffee roaster if you can. We have an Aeropress and a coffee subscription, with tins of vacuum packed Italian espresso coffee from TKMaxx in between.

Libertaire · 20/11/2021 20:48

I buy Lavazza Qualita Rossa for the espresso machine & usually Waitrose Colombian beans for the cafetière which I grind as required.

I've been single nearly a year so definitely notGrin not unless my very recent tailgater was in the gifted department Grin

What's an aero press and what's a Turkish pot.

Have j been doing coffee wrong all these years ?

Lavazza. Machu Picchu

Molehillfromamountain · 20/11/2021 20:52

Co-Op Single Origin Columbian Fair Trade Roast and Ground Coffee. It's in a black packet and is surprisingly tasty for the price.

Ticketybooboo · 20/11/2021 20:53

The Lidl Italian blend (the green one), or any Italian blend, so Lavazza if flush, in the Moka pot. PERFECTION!

Aeropress is an amazingly simple contraption! I use www.aeropress.co.uk/ and thr waste is biodegradable (paper and coffee grounds, no pods)
JurgensCakeBaby · 20/11/2021 21:03

Are you using a drip filter machine or a proper espresso/coffee machine, if the former that's your problem.

Whatwouldscullydo · 20/11/2021 21:06

Its just a fairly cheap morphy Richards coffee machine.

Its not the best. They keep updating the models ajd each one seems less sturdy than the one befire. But uts easy to use. Add coffee add water press a button. The jug keeps creating too.

Glad I started this thread now as before I replace , I've been made aware of alternatives which I will you tube over the weekend and see how they all work.

Rather than get a cafetière why not get a bialetti for your hob.
It’s the proper Italian way to make coffee and smells so good when it’s brewing.

Pact coffee is great - you can either have a subscription or order one off bags, always fresh and loads of different choices. Direct trade too.

LalalalalalaLand123 · 20/11/2021 21:14

Morrisons ground espresso/Italian coffee, made into espresso in a machine. I add chocolate powder and a bit of soymilk. Very yum.

LalalalalalaLand123 · 20/11/2021 21:16

Delonghi machine - makes a great espresso

MuthaFunka61 · 20/11/2021 21:23

There's a coffee taster on YT named James Hoffman, maybe search his videos. He's very watchable.

Whatwouldscullydo · 20/11/2021 21:25

Hopefully he can help me decide between presses and pots Grin

That silver pot has me intrigued are they easy to use?
