To expect the delivery man not to leave 4 boxes and 2 parcels outside my frontdoor for all the world to see, whilst I am out!

I am so cross, not only did it show that there was no one in my house, but anybody could have taken my shopping! What if I had gone away? They were not small boxes either!

(mind you they would have had a bit of a shock if they had taken the boxes!- 9 packs of Tena lady pads!!!!!) Which also made me a bit more cross, as one of the boxes were open and so you could see what was being delivered to me!!

my DH got a bill from a book club for the editor's choice, that we knew nothing about. Whe he called them to query it, they said the book had been left in the top of the recycling bin.....the cardboard recycling bin. No note through the door or anything!

He got off with paying for it!

I'd be fine with them left in a porch

pinkbubble · 19/12/2007 23:43

I too am not on a main road, but we are route to at least 30+ houses, and with knowledge, I worry that maybe the people I live near are honest!!!!! but you never know who is visiting! AND in this day and age I really find it hard to trust people I do not know! especially at this time of year!

Mind you I think if anyone had taken my parcels they would have probably bring them straight back!, but then saying that the order was worth over £100 and so would be useful to somebody!

Flame this batch of parcels was not left in my porch, it was left on my mat, I had to move all parcels to get in through my front door!

Thats terrible! The silly bugger cant have thought it was safe leaving parcels on the doorstep. Id be very mad.
I always leave a note on the door if im expecting any parcels, asking for them to be left by the back door....
....however just realised that anybody who read the note would know where they were and could still steal them.

I often have idiots throwing parcels over the back gate where they have been known to sit in the rain for several days, as opposed to leaving them in the porch where they are covered and safe and I see them when they get back. No one has any common sense these days.
