To wonder who is the best (or worst I guess!) bad guy in TV or film?

So me and DH rewatching TWD and just got to the first meeting of Negan again. Both episodes give me absolute chills and make me feel sick watching, not even from the gore.

I think he's the worst villain I've seen on TV, at the start anyway.

Who's your favourite (or worst)?

Oh I missed that it was also films.

Agree with Percy from The Green Mile

PiglingBlonde · 10/11/2021 20:42

@Shade17

Alan Rickman, such an awesome villain

Agreed with Ralph Feinnes in Schindlers List, genuinely terrifying and believable. If I met him IRL I'd be fighting the urge to run away!

@Mattttttt

Jason Watkins as Herrick is S1 of Being Human. Camp, menacing, cheerful and slightly deranged all at the same time, it’s a masterful performance.

I bloody live him in that.

tedsletterofthelaw · 10/11/2021 21:12

Angelus in Buffy.

Not that he was particularly scary but the whole season 2 arc of Angel losing his soul was absolutely brilliant and heartbreaking.

CSIblonde · 10/11/2021 21:21

Joan Ferguson in the cult prison series Wentworth. Pamela Rabe won an award for her portrayal of the psychopathic Prison Governor . The most multi faceted psychopath portrayal ever. And Mads Mikelson as Hannibal in the cult US TV series if the same name. He's utterly chilling (& v v v handsome). It's gory, visually stunning, twisted & darker than dark. The profiler tracking him , called Will, is also rather stunning. Both Joan & Hannibal have some fantastic tribute videos on You Tube set to music: that are so good they're like series trailers .

FrangipaniBlue · 10/11/2021 22:05

Javier Bardem plays the best villains!

Chigurh - No Country For Old Men
Silva - Skyfall
Salazar - Pirates of the Caribbean

tsmainsqueeze · 10/11/2021 22:19

Don Logan -sexy beast film

BrisbaneandGone · 10/11/2021 22:22

Paul Spector in The Fall, Jamie Dornan did it so well and he was so watchable, helps that he's extremely easy on the eye too

PufferFish · 10/11/2021 22:30

Kane in Poltergeist haunted my childhood dreams!

MintyGreenDream · 10/11/2021 22:33

Jacs in Wentworth.
Gus in Breaking Bad.

JazzyBBG · 10/11/2021 22:39

Todd Carty as Gabriel Kent in The Bill. The look he used to do when he was planning something was brilliant.

I also rate Penn Badgley in You as a complete weirdo but he's also likeable which distorts from being the bad guy!

And for a woman "baddie" Jodie Comer in Killing Eve is brilliant.

FastFood · 10/11/2021 22:56

Jerry, George, Cosmo and Elaine.
And Alex in A Clockwork Orange.

NEE1302 · 10/11/2021 22:59

Paddy Considine's character in Peaky Blinders gave me the creeps

Katiejanej · 10/11/2021 23:11

A vote for Fred Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) - Handmaids Tale. He’s truly villainous and makes my skin crawl.
John Dutton (Kevin Costner) Yellowstone. He’s nuanced and you root for him, he’s got a code, but he’s does such unspeakable things, and is king on his land, which is most of Montana, he has to qualify as a villain. It’s about the best TV show I’ve ever seen, it’s beautifully shot, Costner is mesmerising, it’s on Amazon and makes everything else look like kids TV.
Agree with Trinity from Dexter, he was chilling.

FissionMailed · 10/11/2021 23:13

Sqweegel

From CSI, creeped me the hell out..

Katiejanej · 10/11/2021 23:16

And Herrick!! Totally agree, it’s Jason Watkins masterpiece. He was a subtler Umbridge, except weirdly likeable, evil to the core. I don’t remember much, watched it years ago and remember thinking no baddie would ever live up.

LondonWolf · 10/11/2021 23:19

King Joffrey in GOT.

He was supremely awful.

Garriet · 10/11/2021 23:21

Tommy Shelby.
Not a villain as such but certainly not a hero. I think he’s a scary man, but written and played very well with some depth and nuance.

RobinPenguins · 10/11/2021 23:29

Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton) in Happy Valley. Just chilling, brutal, convincing.

Pucarbuile · 10/11/2021 23:30

Yes!

The lads in Kin aren't nearly so menacing.

HazeltonLane · 10/11/2021 23:37

@TrishM80

Loved JR Ewing in Dallas. Larry Hagman played the role perfectly.
Another vote for JR. The man we love to hate! RIP Larry Hagman.
KittyWindbag · 11/11/2021 01:24

Film: Gary Oldman in Leon. Tbh Gary Oldman whenever he is playing a baddie.

Tv: Ramsey Bolton in GoT. Never thought anyone could out-manouver Joffrey in the ‘being an evil bastard’ stakes but he did.

Bogeyes · 11/11/2021 03:17

The House That Jack Built...

CherylStreep · 11/11/2021 07:50

Fran in Love Hate
Villanelle in Killing Eve
