What do you want for Christmas?

I am getting old and can't think what I want for Christmas, except for a less stressful job/life. Oh and for covid to fuck off and for climate change to do the same.

What are you wishing for for Christmas, that can actually be obtained with some money and not some divine intervention/other people not behaving like arses?

As my name states, I would like a cat but unless there's some divine intervention there, that won't be happening either Grin

A lot of good stuff here!

I have been eyeing up the velvetiser for a couple of years now but I can't justify it. Most years I would say I have one or two mugs of hot chocolate. It would just become another one of those things that just sit there, taking up space, like the juicer that I promised DH I would use aaaall the time. Lol. He's the fool for falling for it! It's the equivalent of the child who promises that they will always walk the dog and pick up all the poop if they get one.

I can't blame DH for not knowing what to get me, I am quite tricky to buy for.
I do love fashion but as a man he doesn't really have the eye for it. For example he wouldn't see why I wouldn't want a boot with a square block heel, when I have boots with heels. They are all the same to him! Grin
It also makes it tricky that when I want something, I tend to just buy it.

The whole gift thing is just stressy! But poor DH won't like getting gifts from me if he has nothing to give me too. Gotta keep thinking!

Peace of mind.

I love small gifts like a good book a box of after eights, a cosy pair of pj’s and a nice scarf or hat. I’ve never been a big present sort of person.

icansmellyourbaffies · 08/11/2021 03:02

For me and my family to enjoy a full clean bill of health and many happy years to come.

Thank you so much.

Plus new slippers x

My DH always buys me a particular scent that I could never justify buying for myself as the price of it has gone up. I make it last all year!

I was so stressed last year for various reasons that for the first time ever, I couldn't really be arsed about Christmas but I am looking forward to it this year again.

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 08/11/2021 07:23

This year I would like a Lumie alarm clock, some lovely slippers that won’t fall apart within 6 months and I’m going to use my birthday/Xmas money (they’re very close to each other) to buy some outrageously expensive perfume that I wouldn’t have a cat in hells chance of buying with my own money.

If he’s stuck for you why don’t you agree no presents and book yourselves a mini break as a present to each other? No sense in buying stuff for the sake of it.

I'm not stuck and have done really well for once 😝 I think I'm going to wrap all of his gifts this weekend.
Am giving birth early next year and have a 3 year old, so relaxing breaks are well over a year away now 😒

I want to rejoin the EU

Me too.

Susiearcher4 · 09/11/2021 21:35

@Gladioli23 I'm the same. I like things I wouldn't normally get myself. Nice socks, slippers, pjs. A candle from www.inbloomandco,com (I bought some for friends as gifts for Xmas, but they smell soooooo good that I want them for myself 🤣)
I'd really love a soda stream too, I think I would use it lots !

Gladioli23 · 09/11/2021 21:57

@Susiearcher4

I decided I would make myself my own stocking this year, partially inspired by this thread.

So far I have a non fiction book, some lovely tea, posh soap, and a DVD of one of my favourite comfort films that periodically vanishes off the streaming software.

I'm planning to buy some posh chocs and some lovely shower gel to top it off.

Susiearcher4 · 09/11/2021 22:11

@Gladioli23 LOVE this idea ! Chocolates are definitely on the list too... forgot about them! 🤣🤣🤣

halfpasteleven · 09/11/2021 22:19

@Gladioli23 I love your idea! Must recreate it for myself this year!

An Alexa for my craft/art room so I can request music and ask about measuring conversions.

For my kidneys to smarten up so I can take the odd Advil, which is the only thing that helps my joint pain.

This is a great idea for a present!
