What do you want for Christmas?

I am getting old and can't think what I want for Christmas, except for a less stressful job/life. Oh and for covid to fuck off and for climate change to do the same.

What are you wishing for for Christmas, that can actually be obtained with some money and not some divine intervention/other people not behaving like arses?

As my name states, I would like a cat but unless there's some divine intervention there, that won't be happening either

A certain limited edition Olivia Burton watch - but DH has ordered it already so that’s sorted .

Also a pair of very small gold ear studs in the shape of a mushroom with a tiny ruby in each of them.

The things I want either can't be bought, or they can and I have/will buy for myself.

I love a surprise, but you’re right @BarbaraofSeville expectation just leads to disappointment.

Nothing makes me happier than watching the kids open their presents, didn’t really get to enjoy that last year as I had to hold iPad for FaceTime for grandparents.
Won’t be doing that again this year.

I don't want or need any "stuff" really. And for the first time in decades? I'm not into it this year.
Always loved Christmas but this year I'm just not interested. Not sure why.

Me and dp very rarely do presents for each other at Christmas by mutual agreement unless we can both think of something we really want but I do like the idea of presents specifically chosen by me for me so might do it this year. On my list will be a good book set, favourite chocolates, pyjamas, fluffy socks, nice nail varnish, maybe a pamper set. I very rarely spend much on myself so might make it a new tradition to pick out some things I want but don’t need to treat myself with each birthday/Christmas

Oh I'm sorry. I was starting chemo Christmas Eve two years ago. It is totally horrible but it does end.

• Good TV schedule.
• Lots of delicious food.
• Mild weather so less heating needed, definitely no snow/ice.

• I'd also like aliens to visit Earth. Friendly extraterrestrial beings obviously, with a good sense of humour :)

I am having warm socks and a warm poncho thingy. I chose them because that's beyond DH (he's a stroke victim). My DSis is getting me nighties, and I am very much hoping that my DS and DIL are getting me a new bedside lamp. And that's all I need.

Any ornaments, pictures or other "stuff" that is bought for me will be going to the charity shop in January. After a massive declutter I got rid of about 50% of our possessions and I absolutely don't want any more coming in 'cos I'm still working on chucking more stuff out!
