Men on Mumsnet!

AIBU to wonder why some men are on Mumsnet? I don’t have strong feelings about it, I’m not anti-men and the posts from men I have come across on here have all been fine, but it just strikes me as odd that these reasonable men would become a part of an obviously women’s forum. Sleazy men, it would make sense, but decent blokes?

I’m a single dad and really like it here. There’s such a range of discussions on here and the traffic level is really high, so you get to hear a lot of different povs.

I really like the political threads, the contributors here are very clued up. I lurk in other male dominated forums, but I find they often get very competitive and testosterone-ey. More balanced here imo.

And I love the lack of swear filter. Life doesn’t have a swear filter.

No, I don’t still wonder. Lots of posts from men and women on the thread have been interesting and make it clear that there are good reasons for men being here and that Mumsnet has evolved over the years to be a space for more than just mums.

It’s interesting that a few posters misquote me, so they can be unpleasant. I wonder why that is!

Why wouldn't men be allowed? It's good having different perspectives too
