Glassofshloer yours is gorgeous too. In the pic it looks a bit baggy at the waist on the model. But yours will fit you. It's similar to one my friend wore for her wedding in the summer (beaded, with a small train) and she looked stunning.

[quote Glassofshloer]Not at all Grin it’s beautiful. Love the thin straps & low back - so glamorous. Summer wedding?

Here’s mine Smile

Gorgeous dress! I hope you have a fabulous day! 💐

Fuckitsstillraining · 07/10/2021 20:34

It's beautiful but I'm going to say that no matter what because its almost identical to mine (13 years married now). My bouquet was teardrop shaped and quite long, it was a friend of my father who did our flowers and he actually came to see the dress shape before deciding what to do for flowers and made a mini bouquet for me to see a week before the wedding, I was delighted with what he supplied (I'd been terrified because he's also the local undertaker and was afraid my flowers would look like they belonged on top of a coffin). Are you wearing a veil?

Shirleyphallus · 07/10/2021 20:34

But then, when she'd finished laughing at you, my 15 yo turned pensive for a moment: "Mum, there must be something in Novice's background that has given her a huge amount of insecurity...it's probably not her fault that she isn't classy enough to understand how to act in different social situations...or maybe doesn't have enough education to realise that the internet is still a 'social situation' for all right-minded people, albeit on a massive scale"

As if this happened GrinGrin

What a beautiful dress! I can only dream of having a body that suits it!

'and the whole queue clapped'

StellaAndCrow · 07/10/2021 20:41

glassofschloer Yours is absolutely beautiful too! The flower detail is gorgeous and I love the shape.

I hope you both have amazing days!
xx

@DappledThings

No, the thread wasn't 'critique my dress please' I'm pretty sure anyone who has been on MN for more than a day would realise posting a picture of a dress in AIBU is very much inviting criticism.
Yes exactly this. The dress isn't my cup of tea either but it if the OP iz happy with it then so what?
Ifionlyknewthenwhatiknownow3 · 07/10/2021 20:43

You're just right to shout out how lovely your dress is, it's stunning, love the lace at the hem. Your happiness is infectious, good on you , enjoy the rest of your preparations and of course the Big Day.

StellaAndCrow · 07/10/2021 20:43

It is making me smile imagining both your fiancé's faces when they finally see you :) They're going to be so proud!

So cynical @Shirleyphallus Wink

Yet so true

BobaFettOnMyBedsideTable · 07/10/2021 20:44

I had a Sophia Tolli dress (11 years ago). I felt so special in it. It's a beautiful dress and I'm sure you'll look stunning. I love a happy thread like this.

Your post implies that there is "classy" which you are and "cheap" which the OP's dress, and by extension her taste, is. My and my teen are wiping laughter tears from our eyes because nothing comes across as so utterly trashy as a person who uses a post like this as an opportunity to validate themselves. Anyone who is truly classy, or as you put it, "old fashioned" would know that the response should be, "Beautiful dress, and lovely to see a bride so happy and excited; wishing you all the flowers". But then, when she'd finished laughing at you, my 15 yo turned pensive for a moment: "Mum, there must be something in Novice's background that has given her a huge amount of insecurity...it's probably not her fault that she isn't classy enough to understand how to act in different social situations...or maybe doesn't have enough education to realise that the internet is still a 'social situation' for all right-minded people, albeit on a massive scale

What a good idea, the florist working with the shape of the dress. Sounds fab.
traintraveller · 07/10/2021 20:49

KazenoTaninoNaushika all that poster did was give an opinion on a dress whereas you have made yourself look like a dick.

ODFOD! OP the dress is beautiful and will be even more so with you in it! YANBU YANBU YANBU x1000
TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 07/10/2021 20:51

That's lovely, just the sort of thing I will need (if it ever happens Sad) as I have got unfeasibly large feet.

Naillig222 · 07/10/2021 20:52

@44PumpLane

YANBU it is lovely!!

Can I also suggest you practice taking pictures with an inexpensive bunch of flowers from the supermarket to see how you want to hold your bouquet on the day? I had never thought about this and on the day held my bouquet how I assumed I shouod be holding it but when I loom at the pictures I am holding my bouquet oddly high..... Its fine but I wish someone had pointed it out or I had known before!

So tip of the day.... Take a few photos and see where looks best to be holding your bouquet for your personal preference. :)

Totally agree. I hate that the nicest part of my dress is hidden by the bouquet in my photos. Would have been much nicer if I'd held them lower down. It's not something that had ever occurred to me until I saw my photos.
susiebluebell · 07/10/2021 20:53

@Glassofshloer I see we have crashed Romantica's website! Exciting to see what the dress will be eventually when it loads!

OP that dress is wonderful!

Pedalpushers · 07/10/2021 20:54

Gorgeous dress OP, I'm sure you'll look like a million dollars and your fiance will go bananas when he finally sees you in it. I get what you mean - it's so weird not to show this amazing thing you're excited about to your partner! I was desperate for mine to see it.

Wineandroses3 · 07/10/2021 20:54

Wow it’s absolutely beautiful 😊
