It gets pretty depressing on here, shall we have a nice thread for the nice things we have done this week?

Made my first soup and crumble of the colder season, lovely cosy food while it's cold and wet outside is the best!

Cheermonger · 02/10/2021 22:31

Me and dh went to the cinema for the first time in nearly 2 years, enjoyed the film then had supper out. It was lovely

What a lovely thread, love everybody doing their cosy autumn activities! Wish I could go blackberry picking.

Not me, but my 8yo son recently made a friend and is going to her house at the weekend! It’s his first time to be invited to someone’s house to play (obviously except cousins/family) and he’s way too excited 😂

My other three have been invited to a lot of birthday parties/play dates and everything but ds has struggled to meet friends, he is sen but in a mainstream school and understandably other kids don’t always ‘get’ him, or can find him difficult.

spaceghetto · 02/10/2021 22:46

Ds and I saw a huge puddle on the school run. We went home, made boats and then went on a sailing adventure. Then enjoyed lots of puddle jumping.

Lovely thread OP Smile

Newish but not new to me as we'd been friends for years DP brought me my favourite flowers today just because.

It caught me off guard. That probably seems such a small thing but to me it was massive and made me teary.

No one has ever brought me flowers just because. DP said he remembered I'd mentioned they were my favourite, so when he was in the shop and saw them he thought of me.

I was with my ex for a very long time, father of my now grown up dc and it was a toxic abusive relationship.

Ex only ever brought me flowers on very few occasions to show off as the good guy, such as my birthday when family would be round and he would tell them all how wonderfully he'd spoilt me for my birthday, him often having spent my money on my presents so I'd effectively brought my own. He would never have known what my favourite flowers were.

My DS 1 aged 18 did not want to go to uni. Struggling to get apprenticeship despite okayish A'levels.
Last minute decision to do a HND at local uni. Seems to have grown up overnight. Spent hours on an essay, actually finished it in good time and emailed to tutor for feed back. Is listening to advice and taking responsibility.

@seekings1mplicity

I went out this morning and Big Cat, who lost his brother last week, let me put him on my lap and enfold him completely. He tucked his head under my arm and purred mightily.
love this! What an honour and oh! A mighty purr a marvelous thing.

Feeling happier just reading all of these!

We saw family yesterday for the first time since July (been in self isolation during IVF as getting covid can equal cycle cancellation). Our niece and nephew are just little so are changing and growing so much that it was nice to see them again and see them recognise us.

I received two orders for my small business (anyone who runs one knows the feeling of this well!) So I am now planning my Sunday of wax melting and candle pouring whilst the Sunday lunch cooks.

Just feeling very grateful and content Smile

This thread has really helped lift my mood. Thank you everyone!

Oliveandsage · 03/10/2021 09:35

Mentioned weeks ago to my DH that I preferred Lurpak over the spread he bought.

Last night when he came back from the food shop, he’d bought Lurpak.

Such a small thing but really made me happy!

Pollypocket89 · 03/10/2021 21:25

Bump... I have no lovely thing to add, I just enjoyed reading this on a rubbish day

DinosApple · 03/10/2021 21:52

I've been I'll all week and a lovely friend left flowers on the doorstep. So thoughtful and cheered me right up. Flowers

DinosApple · 03/10/2021 21:53

ill not I'll Confused.

ODmenow2021 · 03/10/2021 22:05

I've got clean sheets tonight.

First time in ages as I'm not doing well with my long term MH. Feels like a big, albeit temporary achievement.

Darkchocolateandcoffee · 03/10/2021 22:08

I've come home from a big op and spent the day mostly in bed watching Real Housewives and doing the Times crossword on my iPad.

Homemade chilli for lunch (red meat after blood loss in op) then I had a nap. Bliss!

Darkchocolateandcoffee · 03/10/2021 22:11

@JamieFrasersLover

I came out of hospital today and I'm so relieved. I get married in a few days and thought I'd be too ill to go through with it.
Congrats to you! I hope the wedding goes well and that you go from strength to strength
Cryalot2 · 03/10/2021 22:12

We are 34 years married today.
We have hit some rough patches in last 8 years or so but we are coming to the end of a trip round part of Ireland. We both have had health problems which have put pressure on things and the D word has loomed . But we have had a lovely day enjoying nature and missed the showers going around.

Well done! I know what it's like to be at the point where changing your bedsheets is huge. Pat on the back, enjoy the feeling. Temporary or not at some point all these little steps add up until things are better. Keep your chin up.
CleopatrasBeautifulNose · 03/10/2021 23:00

Drove home from a visit to my mum and dad today. The kids were in the back of the car playing on an app game together which is like Minecraft. They were giggling their heads off together, chatting about what to do next and enjoying each other and the game. Journey passed quickly with them making me smile.

DeepaBeesKit · 03/10/2021 23:03

I had the day off on friday. DD (2) woke up from her nap a bit grumpy and just wanted to cuddle me so we snuggled on the sofa for an hour and sang her favourite songs together. She smelled glorious in that sweet baby girl way. Grin

DerAlteMann · 04/10/2021 00:55

DD went to town yesterday and bought a new coat. She went by herself. DD has agrophobia.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 04/10/2021 01:29

I walked the garden with DH, looking at all the foliage changing colour & making plans for what to cut back & what to move & re-plant. A pineapple sage I repotted when I thought I was about to lose it has come back to full health & smells lovely. The leaves of two tiny cherry trees in pots have gone orangey & bright red, unexpectedly. We have bunches of grapes - sour & useless but spectacularly plentiful when I lifted up a branch & discovered them. There were berries & butterflies everywhere.

Washeduponthebeach · 04/10/2021 05:37

This thread is just so uplifting.
