It gets pretty depressing on here, shall we have a nice thread for the nice things we have done this week?

Lovely thread @Moneysavvymam

Just come back from town with a big supply of bird food and hedgehog food to keep the birds going all through winter, and the hedgehogs going til they hibernate! I LOVE seeing the birds munch the suet pellets, and seed and fruit mix, and mealworms I put out for them. Smile

Also love popping out after dark and watching the hedgehogs munching away merrily on their food.

Warms my heart to see it. 😊

I'm sat on a sunbed by an empty pool in 26c Croatian sun. Bliss

seekings1mplicity · 02/10/2021 13:38

I went out this morning and Big Cat, who lost his brother last week, let me put him on my lap and enfold him completely. He tucked his head under my arm and purred mightily.

Theimpossiblegirl · 02/10/2021 13:43

Just had a lovely grown up brunch with my eldest. The teen years and Covid times have not been easy so this was especially pleasant, we feel we have come through both and are closer as a result.

TooBigForMyBoots · 02/10/2021 13:55

The trees look magnificent at the moment. Just as the people who planted them intended. Thanks horticulturists and parkies.🌲🍁🌳🍃🍂

Peccary · 02/10/2021 14:01

DD and her best friend from pre school don't go to the same school now. For various reasons of Covid, holidays, house moves they haven't seen each other for a month or so. The joy on their faces playing together today was wonderful

Alwaysfuckingsick · 02/10/2021 14:27

I've had a lovely walk around the local national trust before the rain started, got back just in time to clean the rabbits out, who are 13 weeks old and just getting used to us, we kept them in the kitchen with us a bit longer and let them sniff us because it's safe without wires etc and they sprawled out which is brilliant, so happy because it means they're comfortable with us! And I did some baking for MIL who had a fall(I'm not the best at making them pretty, but they taste good!)

We got out for a woodland walk this morning. The rain was just starting so we got a bit wet. The weather is awful now. Ds is upstairs with a friend playing his xbox. I'm reading my book and dh is napping on the sofa before his night shift. Just put some new wax in my burner and got the heating on. Just finishing my cup of tea and will finish putting clean sheets in the bed

@Proudofher

Good idea, after 1.5 years of epilepsy my 2 year old is 7 weeks seizure free. Isn't that lovely Bear
That's brilliant!!!! Congratulations.

wow that's so lovely and has made me smile ear to ear!!

@DivingBoardInGuernsey

It's lashing with rain but we're cosy indoors, laundry is on, lunch is cooking, DD and I are both snuggled under blankets reading / MN-ing, cat curled up with us, hot mug of tea within reach.

Also I'm occasionally grinning when I remember a very serious teen who ran past me yesterday wearing a T-shirt that said "vegan athlete" Grin presumably because it would be awful if they weren't getting double credit for being a runner AND vegan.

oh god double trouble.

How do you know if someone is a vegan?
Don't worry they will tell you within 5 seconds of meeting them

Well my friends these people are very special. They will wear an emblazed t-shirt to let everyone know that they are indeed both a vegan and a runner!!!

@dizzyupthegirl86

It wasn’t this week, it was years ago, but someone reminded me of it this week… I was on a night out with my sister and some friends, it was the middle of winter and freezing. Our friends left early and we got chatting to a group of guys on a stag do, who asked us where else they should go. We suggested a place and they invited us along but then we got there, there was a huge queue and we were not dressed for standing outside for ages! The ‘stag’ saw how cold I was, and while we waited to get in, hugged me from behind (with his arms around my shoulders) to keep me warm, and told me how he’d met his fiancé and how much he loved her and couldn’t wait to marry her. He didn’t do anything other than help me stay warm, but I hope they are still married.
Not sure that was lovely? He had a fiancé… it was just weird! I’d not appreciate my husband touching someone else even if they were cold!
MyPatronusIsACat · 02/10/2021 15:58

@CelloYouveGotABass

30 weeks pregnant and feeling ill and horrible. Toddler slept until 7am and now DH has taken toddler out for the morning (as he tends to do on a Saturday) and I’m sitting having tea and toast. No pressure to clean or tidy either.
Awww, what a guy. Grin
CleopatrasBeautifulNose · 02/10/2021 16:13

Eilatan2018 I think it sounded lovely, ike it had an entirely platonic vibe and so thoughtful. I wouldn't mind my fiance doing that. It sounded brotherly.

CleopatrasBeautifulNose · 02/10/2021 18:51

Last night my two young dc wanted to wrestle, I wasn't really in the mood but I found the energy we had a fun wrestle session. Then we all flopped after we ran out of energy and it became a snuggle heap. My dc1 (11 just started secondary school) had a hairbrush in reach and started brushing my hair tenderly. He carried on for ages until he got sleepy and then bundled off to bed. 🥰 My heart was soaring fit to burst.

Datafan55 · 02/10/2021 19:05

Definitely some small blessings this week that have made my heart sing. Weeks of joint problems but just confirmed it isn't RArthritis or gout, and had 25mins on the phone with a very thorough doctor to boot. Friend collected a shop for me. Have sorted out some photos of my lovely nieces this afternoon, am looking forward to zooming them soon (although the last couple of times we've done far too many online Harry Potter quizzes :-D ), and now the rain is on the window and I have had a rare glass of red wine and some chocolate.

Great thread!

funinthesun19 · 02/10/2021 19:10

It was my DD’s 3rd birthday on Monday and she started nursery at school on Tuesday. All lovely moments Smile.

My eldest (10) said to me last night:
“You’re tired because you’re a hardworking mum and I love you.”
Those words meant everything.

That’s how it felt - absolutely nothing sleazy. I don’t know how long we all queued for but he spent the whole time talking about the woman he was going to marry, it was adorable (even if he’d not been helping me stay warm).
pinksquash13 · 02/10/2021 21:57

@Proudofher that is brilliant news! You must be so relieved things are improving. Very much hope it continues.

@Purplecatshopaholic congratulations!

My daughter (toddler) said two words together for the first time today: "mummy's drinkie" and it just made my heart swell.

Washeduponthebeach · 02/10/2021 22:07

What a lovely thread. I managed a longish walk for the first time in three weeks pain free.
I’ve had awful back issues and been in pain all that time. I will never take being able to walk pain free for granted again.

Booboosweet · 02/10/2021 22:13

I had a nice autumnal walk in the park with dd today.

FWBNC · 02/10/2021 22:17

What a lovely thread! (Mostly. Predictably a few trying to spoil it)

It's been so nice reading everyone's nice things!!

I can't add much, I'm sorry! I'm trying to make the most of 'good moments' right now, but they won't mean much to anyone else!

JamieFrasersLover · 02/10/2021 22:18

I came out of hospital today and I'm so relieved. I get married in a few days and thought I'd be too ill to go through with it.

lifecoachingandotherbollocks · 02/10/2021 22:21

My ds got his asd assessment aftera long wait, relief and happiness as expected.

BlossomOnTrees · 02/10/2021 22:22

Had a good shop today and bought some nice clothes.
Peeing it down with rain so spent the rest of the day in bed, reading, netflix and takeaway. Been a while since I had a day as nice as this.
