He can't breathe.

He was poorly on weds Eve with a temp. I actually posted on here about it. He's not got better. Continuous cough
Did a test on Friday. No result yet. Called 11 because we hasn't eaten for 5 days. Continuous temp for 5 days. He's so poorly. Has no energy to even sit up and watch the telly.

111 asked us to take him to emergency care
Here.nkw waiting to be seen. He can't catch his breath. He's my only child, my PFB. I can't cope. Husband isn't allowed to be with us. I'm all alone.

Aw love to you and Freddie. He will be fine and is in the best hands. Sounds like a chest infection and they can really help with that.

Know lots of little ones who have been ill in hospital with bronchiolitis - all recovered well. It's quite common although I realise it didn't feel like that to you!

Keep calm xx

Popcornriver · 26/09/2021 15:27

Not your fault whatsoever, you've followed medical advice. Thinking of you and Freddie Flowers

Teacupsandtoast · 26/09/2021 15:32

It's not your fault. Little ones often have a habit of coming over REALLY poorly like this with something relatively straightforward like a chest infection, need hospital intervention, then perk up bright as a button with some antibiotics, and wonder what all the fuss is about when mum looks like she's been crying for 24 hours straight. He's going to be ok and no one will blame you xx

purpleboy · 26/09/2021 15:34

Don't blame yourself op, you did exactly what you were told you. Your not a dr, or have a crystal ball. You did the best you could with the info you had at the time.
Freddie is in the best possible place and I have everything crossed for a speedy recovery Thanks

HollowTalk · 26/09/2021 15:34

I hope everything goes well. You're in the best place. Try not to make assumptions about what might happen - you'll drive yourself mad that way.

lljkk · 26/09/2021 15:35

Little Kids get worse or better very quickly. Please don't blame yourself that he was suddenly very ill, you can't predict that when mostly the will get better by selves

Joystir59 · 26/09/2021 15:43

He's in the best place and will get all the help he needs. Try to be kind and not beat yourself up with should've and could've.

Chimchar · 26/09/2021 15:46

Be kind to yourself...you've taken and followed medical advice which makes you a very caring mum. Hope he's feeling better soon. Hug for you. Xx

lynntheyresexpeople · 26/09/2021 15:47

It's not your fault at all - kids go downhill so fast.
My son has been in twice overnight with bronchitis, and he got so poorly SO fast. The Gp sent us straight to hospital. Chest infections and bronchitis and the like, knock little ones for six. For the most part children do seem to cope better with Covid than things like bronchitis, so if it is Covid please don't panic. Whatever his diagnosis he is in the right place, and you are absolutely not to blame in the slightest. My little one was 9 months and then 18 months when admitted, and I know how helpless you feel. It's absolutely awful. A huge hand hold to you Thanks

Bagelsandbrie · 26/09/2021 15:49

This is not your fault. Children suddenly deteriorate. And they bounce back quickly too! Thinking of you both and hoping you have some positive news soon.

Humpthree · 26/09/2021 15:51

They've diagnosed pnumonia
Oxygens dropped they're putting him on oxygen now. He's had a blood test

Mama1980 · 26/09/2021 15:54

It's not your fault op, you followed medical advice. Sick children often get worse quickly and out of nowhere. Good news is they bounce back really fast as well.
Freddie is in the best place.

CottonSock · 26/09/2021 15:57

Hopefully he will pick up fast if they get antibiotics into him. Has he got a IV line in?

Blueberry40 · 26/09/2021 15:59

Sorry to hear this, you must be terrified. Thinking of you and little Freddie, hope he makes a quick recovery and is back to his normal self really soon ❤️‍🩹 sending big hugs Flowers

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 26/09/2021 16:00

Poor little chap. Please PLEASE don’t blame yourself. Little one’s conditions can change very rapidly. He’s in the best place now, with his mummy nearby.

VickyEadieofThigh · 26/09/2021 16:01

Oh my love - all the very best for you and Freddie.

fairgame84 · 26/09/2021 16:04

I remember when DS had pneumonia. It's very scary as he was so poorly and we spent 4 days in hospital but he was fine. The first 2 days are the worst. I hope Freddie gets better soon Flowers

actingsergeant · 26/09/2021 16:06

They get well really fast at that age

Bin85 · 26/09/2021 16:07

Thinking of you.
Keep posting xx

Goldbar · 26/09/2021 16:07

So sorry to hear this Flowers. Hopefully the antibiotics will start to have an effect soon. Wishing you all the best and thinking of you.

NellePorter · 26/09/2021 16:09

Flowers for you OP, hope he is on the mend soon xxx

Merryoldgoat · 26/09/2021 16:10

You’ve done absolutely nothing wrong - you’re loving and looking after your boy. He’s in the best place and as soon as the antibiotics start to work he’ll feel better.

My little boy is the same age as Freddie - it’s heartbreaking seeing them so I’ll. Flowers

Autumngoldleaf · 26/09/2021 16:10

Op my dd has been rushed in as well, I did as doctor told me and looking back it was shocking. When I got her to a and e the doctors tyere could not believe they saw her so ill and didn't get her in!!

She was so limp, grey.. Glassy eyed in her push chair.. X Ray

It was awful... They put her on oxygen and steroids and suddenly we were on a ward and she was munching down baked beans.
The next day I went home to shower and change and dh took over. When I came back she wasn't in bed! I panicked and she was in the play room bouncing around like nothing had happened 🤣🤣🤣

Annoyedandirritated · 26/09/2021 16:10

He’s in the right place and hopefully will bounce back quickly. Big hugs to your baby x

Autumngoldleaf · 26/09/2021 16:11

I must say so much baby advice and care is about meningitis and rash.. Nothing about breathing issues!
